A/N: so I just got a Nintendo Switch yesterday and I have just Splatoon 2 and Arms for it, and so far they're both really fun, but Splatoon 2 is so different from Splatoon original. Like, instead of Callie and Marie, it has Pearl and Marina, and I love Marina. Anyway, I love Octolings so I wanted to write a story about the Octoling who captured my OC, Coral, who is the third Squid Sister. Hereeeee we go!
"You'll capture her, Octavia. You'll capture Coral. I have no use for Callie and Marie anymore. And Pearl and Marina are too new. Coral, on the other hand, perfect." DJ Octavio told Octavia, his daughter. Octavia was confused. Why her? Why not any of the other Elite Octolings? That she'd never know, of course. She nodded.
"Good. You are dismissed, daughter."
Octavia sighed. Ever since escaping from Captain Cuttlefish, he'd wanted his revenge on the New Squidbeak Splatoon, and what better way than to capture Coral? Octavia rolled her eyes. She left for Inkopolis tomorrow. She decided she'd be Marina's friend, and that wasn't entirely a lie. She and Marina had been friends, but Marina was jealous that she was the boss' daughter, so they sort of... drifted apart. Now, she could say she was going to try to be her friend again. It would work perfectly. Or so she hoped.
That morning, she jumped through the grate to her spawn point, and then jumped through another grate to the main kettle system of Octo Canyon. Marie would be guarding the Inkopolis grate if Agent 4 was here through Octo Canyon, but if Agent 4 wasn't here, she'd be guarding through Inkopolis. Since Agemt 4 wasn't here, she could get to Inkopolis, but she still had to get past Marie. This is what she was thinking when, suddenly, she was blinded by sunlight. Inkopolis was bright. Octavia heard someone clear their voice, and standing above her was Marie.
"What are you doing here?" she demanded. "Don't make me splat you, Octarian." She held up a splat gun she recognized as the Aerospray RG.
"Well, I'm an old friend of Marina's. I wanted to see her." Marie seemed to consider this.
"Fine." she finally said. "But I'll have to make sure you don't have any weapons on you." Octavia didn't hesitate to let Marie check. She didn't have any, but Octarians have quite the reputation here.
"Marina and Pearl's place is over there." she pointed to a studio across the street. Octavia muttered thanks and began across the street when an Inkling girl stopped her. She looked Octavia up and down.
"They letting Octarians into Inkopolis now?" she asked. "I'm Alicia, and I want to be the one Inkling who doesn't completely hate you. What's your name?" the Inkling girl said.
Octavia was speechless. Why would an Inkling girl talk to her? Why would anyone talk to her, for that matter. She didn't have any friends. The girl stared at her.
"Well?" She sounded impatient.
Octavia snapped back to reality. "Octavia." she said. The Inkling girl nodded. "I have to go see Marina, and later Coral. Want to come?" asked Octavia hopefully. She didn't want to face Marina alone.
"Can't, sorry." Alicia said. "I'm joining my friend's battle in Turf War." Octavia nodded.
"See you later." she said, walking toward Marina's studio.
