He's Going To Need It
Author's Note: So this is my first piece and I am just experimenting with the site and how to post things. Please let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions feel free to post them. Also, being new to this site I have read about betas, and I am in need of one. If anybody is willing to put up with me and my amateur ways, shoot me a message. Enjoy!
It was only a few weeks until the students were to return, and Minerva Mcgonagall was already feeling the stress of a long year. She had already prepared the letters for the new first years and the supply lists for all of the years. Her summer was quickly coming to an end, and unlike all of the teachers, she still had work to do. She had finished her lesson plan and ordered all of her supplies for this coming year by mid-July. She had enjoyed two weeks of vacation in the Scottish Highlands, as well. Now she was stuck with the endless jobs of the Deputy Headmistress.
As Minerva sat at her desk reading the other teachers' lesson plans, she was startled out of her trance by a knock at the door.
"Come in," Minerva replied curtly.
"Professor," none other than the dark bat, Severus Snape, began, "I was wondering if we could discuss the new pitch schedule?"
Minerva looked up from the mound of paper work on her desk to meet Severus' even stare.
"I was under the impression Severus," Minerva stated clearly, "that the schedule was to stay the same as last year and the year before that."
"Well," Severus returned, "usually I would agree, but the fact that a certain celebrity in your house acquired a Nimbus 2000. In light of this new…development, I believe that my house deserves some extra time on the pitch."
"Nervous Severus?" Minerva couldn't help but smirk.
"Actually, Mr. Malfoy made a rather generous donation…"
Minerva watched as the corners of Severus' mouth curved up slightly. Oh, this is not going to be good she thought.
"What sort of donation are we hinting at Severus?"
"Nimbus 2001s," Severus' smirk was now about as close to a smile that it could ever get for him. That infuriating man! I want to smack that smirk right off of his arrogant face.
"Your team is going to need a lot more fancy supplies to make up for their lack of talent. Harry has the talent that your team so obviously lacks."
"We will see who is lacking talent when that trophy is sitting on my shelf in my office, Minerva," Severus stated as he turned toward the door.
"You wish Severus," Minerva replied.
"I will expect an extra hour on the time table for my house Minerva," and with that Severus Snape walked out of the door with his robe billowing behind him.
Minerva suspected that the billowing was caused by a spell, but never really had the time to investigate further. She looked down at the time tables and gave Severus his extra hour.
"He's going to need it," she whispered to herself before closing the folder and looking out her window. If last year was anything to go off of, this year was going to be very interesting.
