After the war Leo requested once more for Calypso to be set free from her island Ogygia. And where Percy had failed, Leo succeeded. They listened and took away the curse that kept her there. However, before they could make her magically poof right in front of him, Leo requested to be sent there to personally rescue her.
Leo washed up on the shore breathless. He looked around trying to gather himself before quickly running to find Calypso. His heart was beating a mile a minute and his mind was racing. As he ran, he fidgeted with his tool belt and smiled as he remembered his stay on Ogygia.
When he found Calypso, she was in her garden digging in the dirt and wiped away the sweat from her eyebrow. "Calypso." Leo said stopping in his tracks.
Calypso jumped. She turned towards Leo and covered her mouth. "What? What are you doing here?" Tears pricked at her eyes.
"What, aren't you happy to see me?" Leo smirked. Calypso pushed herself up and ran to Leo. He embraced her, encircling his arms around her and lifting her up and twirling around in a circle. She giggled happily and the second Calypso's feet touched the ground she clutched Leo's shirt and pulled him in for a kiss. Leo's second kiss, and it was far, far better than the first one.
"What are you doing here?" She asked again after she pulled away.
"I promised I would be back." Leo said matter of factly.
"But, but you actually came back!" Tears were threatening to spill from Calypso's eyes, prompting Leo to wipe the unshed ones from her beautiful eyes. A breeze blew past, causing Calypso's sweet cinnamon scent to waft up into Leo's nose.
"Well duh! Who else was going to help me with Leo and Calypso's Garage?" Leo paused as if thinking. "I swear we've had this conversation before." Leo shook his head with a cheeky grin on his face. Calypso giggled.
"I swear I told you I hated you." Calypso said ever so innocently. Leo glared playfully.
"Oh, but you would never use such a poor innocent, funny guy, like myself." He winked at her. Calypso sniggered and turned away. "Now come on do you need anything from your cave? Because we're leaving Baby. I'm getting you off this island." Calypso's cheeks were flushed.
"Impossible."
"Nope, I came here to get you. The Gods took away the curse. You my Ray of Sunshine are free." Leo threw his arms in the air comically.
Their attention on each other, the two love birds would have missed the raft that pulled up on the shore. "You want anything from your place?" Calypso shook her head. Tears had started falling. "You sure? Because I'm determined to make sure you never get back on this island again." Nodding her head furiously Calypso grabbed Leo's hand and squeezed it for assurance. He squeezed back softly and surprising them both, pecked Calypso on the cheek.
They ran out into the water holding each other's hands. Leo grabbed the boat and offered to help Calypso who just gave him a look. Leo laughed and waited for her to get in before he climbed in himself. "Now where should we go?" Calypso was too preoccupied with her thoughts that she didn't hear the question.
"Hmm?"
"Where should we go Sunshine?" Leo asked.
"Anywhere! Anywhere is fine with me." Calypso's eyes were shiny and as they watched the island become more and more distant. She closed her eyes and let a single tear trek down her cheek. Only for it again to be wiped away by Leo. Only this time with a kiss.
"Good because I'm taking you everywhere!" Leo laughed and leaned into what would make their third kiss.
"Thank you Leo." Calypso whispered softly.
Leo grinned and with a huge goof smile on his face watched the girl he couldn't help but fall for, smile the biggest smile he had ever seen. And it was all because of him that the love of his life was free after 3,000 years.
