The timer was ticking down to the last few seconds. Kate starred into his eyes with an intensity she didn't know she had. Feelings of regret came rushing through her mind. How could she have been so stupid? Why didn't she tell him how she felt? There he was, standing in front of her with the same look of regret in his eyes. And yet, what could she do? They had already run out of time.
As he saw the number one flash on the screen of the timer he could no longer bear to think that she would never know how he felt. He grabbed all the chords and yanked in one last attempt to save their lives. To his surprise, it worked! He didn't even think, he just pulled her in for a hug. After a long moment he pulled his head back, to look into her eyes. He starred down into those beautiful green orbs and saw the same urgency he was feeling. He had to kiss her, there was just no way around it. He had to find a private place and fast. Castle glanced to his right and saw a fairly abandoned looking alley. He took her hand and pulled her forcefully into the privacy. She went willingly. She didn't care what happened anymore, as long as she could be close to him. She was surprised at first when his lips crashed to hers, so forcefully she thought she might topple over. But he had a firm grip on her waist, and before long she was moaning into his mouth. And just as quickly as it began it ended, when they heard footsteps and broke apart. Esposito's familiar voice echoed through the alley.
Esposito: Castle, Beckett! Are you guys ok? Where's the bomb?
Even with Esposito so close he couldn't help but go in for one more kiss. He didn't know if this would happen again anytime soon, and he wanted to make the most of it.
