Eadlyn went to the hospital wing for the third time that day. With her mother's heart attack present, a gloom has set over the entire country. If it was bad before, it was horrific now. Riots held in her name, tabloids blaming the whole thing on Ahren. It was painful to watch, even if she did believe he caused a part of this himself.

But hadn't she pushed him? Hadn't she asked him to not marry Camille? Camille was the love of his life, and Eadlyn was just the twin who came out seven minutes before he did.

Without waiting for any permission, she walked into her mother's room, only to stop in her tracks at the heart-breaking sight. Her dad's hair was disheveled, suit coat off. The rest of his clothes were rinkled, and their was a hint of stubble on his chin. He held moms pale hand and stared at her sleeping form. She was getting better than before; not as skinny as the first night. She seemed to even have a peaceful smile on her face. Only once throughout this she has woken up. Now she was simply recovering like the doctor ordered.

Maxon looked up at his daughter, smiling. "Hello Eady. Nothing else to report. Except the doctor says she'll be okay by tomorrow." That was good news. Who knew what would've happened to the country without her mom by her dad. They were inseperable, and nothing should've been able to keep them apart.

"Dad, what was she like? When she was my age?" Eadlyn sat beside her dad and leaned on him for support. At Eady's words, Maxon's face lit up.

"Absolutely beautiful. You know, you may not look like her, but you're more like her than anything." That made her perk up, facing her dad a curious expression. "What do you mean?"

Maxon looked back at his daughter, adoration for her in his eyes. "Well for one, she didn't want to enter the Selection. Much like how you didn't want one." She had heard that from her mother a while ago, and it had bugged her ever since. Who's idea was it for her to enter the Selection?

"She was really stubborn too. And she didn't hold back from telling me her feelings, and what she thought about me." His eyes lit up as he talked about her mother, and she couldn't keep the grin off her face as well. "Really?"

Maxon nodded, holding Eadlyn's hand along with his wife's. "Really. And we fought so much you wouldn't have thought we'd make it to the end together."

That made her puzzled, because there was only rare occasions that they fought. The last time she had witnessed on was two years ago, and it was a simple argument about the country.

"Can I see photos?" She had already seen the ones from dad's shrine of her parent's love. But there had to be some more from their Selection. Maxon nodded, hesitantly getting up from America's side. "Of course, just let me tell your mother goodbye."

Her heart ached in that moment, about how much they loved each other. Mom was practically in a coma state, and dad still felt bad about leaving her side for a second.

They made their way up to their floor, and Maxon led the way to his bedroom. It wasn't necessarily his, more of he and his wife's. That made an ache in his heart again about the last few nights he had spent alone. But soon, America wouldn't be able to leave here for weeks.

He went over to his desk in the corner, opening a drawer which supposedly had all the photos in it. But his expression was puzzled. "Daddy, what is it?"

Maxon stared at the four books binded together in the drawer. He hadn't ever remembered putting books in here, much less the ones sitting there. He looked at the blue covered one, seeing a girl with red hair in a blue dress hiding her face. America. What the hell?

He saw the words on each book, growing more and more confused by the second. The Selection. The Elite. The One. The Heir. In three was his stunning wife, but in the last was his daughter Eadlyn, looking incredibly regal in the pose she was in. "What in the world is this?" He muttered, and Eadlyn raced around to see what he was fussing about. her eyes widened as she saw herself on the cover of thin-like book. Startled, she looked at her father in bewilderment. "What's going on?"

"I don't know," He opened up the blue one, only to see a note in the middle. Instantly he opened the seal and saw the writing on the inside. It read:

Dear the Royal family and Remaining selected,

We understand your confusion with these four books, and greatly apologize for any discomfort that might come. We would reccomend taking time off to read these books; although time will freeze the instant you all enter the room.

Again, sorry for the confusion. But this is important.

We understand the struggle with Princess Eadlyn's Selection, and her frustration about her own parent's Selection. So we decided to clear up most of the mess and hopefully get everything back in order.

By 10:00 a.m. tomorrow everyone in the palace related to these books should be in the Newsome Library. Their will be a screenplay to help those who aren't reading at the moment to picture the book better. It stops anytime the person reading stops.

Thank you for your patience.

Jesus I'm so sorry! I finally bought the books on my kindle to make it easier, and the Heir makes it so much easier to find the plot! I'm sorry for any frustrations you've had with this book, but I promise now things will run more smoothly. I once or twice a week, focusing more on Mondays or Fridays. I will have another chapter set up tonight to get the ball rolling, and thank you so much for those still following this book. I love you all truly, and this time I'm not giving up on this book.

With love,
