This isn't technically a story, but oh well.

I'm going to start out by saying that this was my favorite book in the series. 

Okay, so when I heard the spoilers that came out on line (yeah, I kind of cheated), I was one of the ones saying that Stephenie had lost her mind. I was convinced it was going to be like bad fanfiction. Bella having Edward's kid? That was so against everything she'd ever written.

But once I actually read it, I was surprised. She made it really seem believable. Mostly because the characters were as shocked as the readers. Everyone in the book was like "How the hell? WTF?".

Some people are saying that Bella being changed ruined the story because it made her less of the character that we'd all gotten used to. I don't agree. I've been waiting for her to be changed since Twilight. I was super stoked that she got to feel a lot less unworthy. It made her SUPER less whiny. Bella's always been kind of…you know…over dramatic about things. But not NEARLY as bad as Edward is about stuff. That may have been my favorite part about her being changed. Edward learned to loosen up. He stopped being so self conscious about everything and stopped considering himself such a soulless monster when he saw how happy Bella was.

I loved that Bella was suddenly like super graceful and coordinated and all around awesome at being a vampire. I was convinced she was still going to fall flat on her face. But one of my favorite parts was when they go hunting for the first time and she describes her "peals of delighted laughter." I never thought of Bella as much of a hardcore laugher, because she thinks so much, you know? She's really introverted. But when she describes her joy with running and actually acting like a vampire, you can tell that she's really enthused to be undead.

So…the whole Renesmee/Jacob thing. A lot of people say that they were wierded out by Jake being in love with two girls at the same time. But that's not how it went down at all. He was never "in love" with Bella like he thought he was. Sure, he felt the pull to her, he felt the devotion, and he felt the undying need to protect her, but as soon as Renesmee was out of her, that pull went away. Even before he imprinted on her, he says that there is nothing connecting him to Bella like there was before. It's because Renesmee had always been a part of Bella, so he always felt the irrational need to keep her safe. As soon as that part of her is out, Jake realizes that he doesn't love her like he used to. But he still loves her as a person, just as his best friend. He knows his attachment was to the small, unconcieved part of Bella that was Renesmee.

Now, the whole scene with the Volturi. I was getting all worked up during it, and then I got all emotional when it was time for the family goodbye session. When Bella gives Nessie to Jake and all. I was getting a little teary eyed. It was sad. But then, my favorite line of the entire book, hands down came up: "Goodbye, Jacob, my brother…my son." I lost it. I was, like, full out tears down my face crying. I mean, think about it. Less than a year before that, Edward and Jacob were at each other's throats, wanting to kill each other. They almost did a few times. Even in the first half of this book, Jake almost rips Edward to shreds. They hated each other. But now, Edward thinks so much of him that he not only calls Jake his brother, but his son? I was kind of overcome. I cried. A lot.

So basically, I loved it. I bought it because I thought I would end up making fun of it, but it totally took me by the heart strings. Kind of like how Nessie does with everyone she meets.

Oh yeah, and Edward finally gets some action. Actually, Edward finally gets A LOT of action. Like, every night.
