Marshall Lee slipped his feet out of his sneakers, smiling a little as the cool, late summer breeze rolled against his exposed skin, and wiggled his toes, a dry laugh almost escaping his throat. His umbrella was held tightly in is hands all the while, protecting him from the deadly rays of the summer sun.
"So then, I was like, KAZING," Cake laughed, pumping her paws into the air, "And Fionna was all KAPOW! The goblins had no chance, PG!"
"Oh, my, sounds fascinating. You two ladies are always quite the warriors. Don't you ever feel scared?"
"Nah, we're not scared of anything! Right, Cake?"
This wasn't an unusual occurrence between the four friends. As much as it infuriated the vampire that he was being ignored and forgotten, he never really spoke up about it. Well, honestly, no one really does. In most cases such as this one, the third wheel—or in Marshall's case, the fourth wheel—just waits quietly, waiting for the others to turn to them and talk to them as well. Marshall was always so outspoken and noticeable, what with his wild rocker nature and his easygoing personality, but it seemed to him that when Prince Gumball was around, Fionna completely shut him off. Not that he was surprised by it or anything. She was a girl in love, after all. The vampire sighed and plucked a few blades of grass from the ground, frowning angrily.
Girls.
Who needs them.
One minute they're laughing with you and making you feel like someone special, but the next they're ignoring you for the guy that they want to get together with.
Freaking girls.

I'm going to write some Marceline/PB soon.
