Not a day went by that she didn't think of him. It hurt so much to be away

from him; the pain in her chest was threatening to explode. Her heart clenched

at the thought that she could've done something to stop it. Anything to stop

it.

"When you are dying, things seem more special," took on a new meaning

for her. Though she wasn't dying, she often felt like it. The blood poured

from her wrists as she screamed from having another one of those damned

visions that threatened to take hold of her every time she thought or saw

blood. Rather she was seeing the future or the past, the visions always happened to her, and the

'curse' just wouldn't leave.

"Major, get your damn butt to the gate now! Daniel, start dialing!" O'Neill yelled, trying to be heard over the sounds of gunfire and the screams of the civilians who'd been caught in the crossfire.

"O'Neill!" Teal'c yelled, as he saw Daniel Jackson fall to the

ground, hit with an arrow.

"Damn. Carter! Dial the gate! Teal'c, get Daniel and go to the gate!

I'll hold them back!"

"Yes, sir!" Sam yelled. She tried to avoid it, but couldn't help

letting out a silent sob when she saw what had happened to Daniel for the second time.

A shwoosh was heard as the stargate opened and Sam sent the iris code

through. As soon as she nodded at Teal'c, he carried Daniel through and Sam

sighed in relief. She saw Colonel O'Neill coming towards her and the

'gate, so she laid down cover fire.

"Get through the 'gate!" O'Neill ordered. The Jaffa were advancing

rapidly.

"But sir!" Carter protested.

"That's an order!" Jack ordered, then fell to the ground hard, blood

already beginning to pool from the freshly inflicted wound in his abdomen.

"Sir!" She felt something stab through her arm and she fell backwards,

into the wormhole, consciousness already fading…
