(My first Fanfic. Enjoy!)

His ears twitched. His eyes widened. There she was, radiant, dazzling. As the rain drizzled down onto her, she glowed with an inner light. Her ebony hair, only damp from the light drizzle, made him want to run his fingers through them. Her scent, even more potent in the rain, vanilla and a hint of cherry blossom, made him want to breathe her in. Her delicate ivory skin, shivering lightly in the rain, made him want to touch her and keep her warm. Her tiny hands, clasped in front of her body, made him want to hold them with his large ones and never let go. Her soft innocent lips made him want to steal them away.

A feeling was stealing over him. One he could not admit to himself. One he could not put into words. He felt the need to protect her, to keep her safe, to cherish her, to hold her. He was jealous of every man she talked to, of every person she bestowed her sweet smile upon.

And as he saw her standing there he felt the burning need to touch her, to hold her in his arms. He leapt softly off the tree he was sitting on and walked towards her. Her back was towards him as she smiled lightly up at the sky. He smiled gently, unconsciously responding to her smile. He walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her into a warm embrace. He felt her tiny body fit perfectly into his.

Her eyes widened as he pulled her into his arms. A soft blush crept up onto her cheeks. She knew without looking that it was him. His strong arms held her protectively against his chest. The heat emanating from his body replaced the chill of the rain. His silver hair draped over her shoulder mixing with her black strands. Her back pressed against his hard chest allowed her to feel the pounding of his heart, which, like hers, beat faster than normal.

His head rested on her shoulder for a moment before he swept her of her feet and leapt to the shelter of a tree canopy. He sat down, placing her on his lap and pulling her back into his arms ready to wait out the rain as the drops began to pour down with more ferocity. Afraid of her reaction he held his breath. She seemed surprised for a moment but then snuggled into him, tucking her head under his chin. He sighed with relief, pulling her even closer.

As they sat there he realised that this was all he wanted. He wanted this moment to last forever.

He could name this feeling now. He loved her. This is what he wanted.

He wanted her.
