Don't You Wanna Stay?, a law and order: svu fanfic

I absolutely love Kelly Clarkson, and I was listening to her when I thought of this.

It is my first attempt at writing a song fic, so please be kind.

The song is Don't You Wanna Stay by Jason Aldean ft. Kelly Clarkson.

Oh and for the record, Elliot and Olivia are together, but no one at the precinct knows.

Elliot followed Olivia into her apartment, exhausted. They had just come from a particularly frightening hostage situation. Olivia had traded herself for a victim to an armed rapist who was thinking anything but clearly.

It had taken 2 hours of negotiation, and finally a sniper to get the situation under control. The rapist had been killed, but not before he raised his gun and fired at Elliot. Luckily he missed, and the sniper took him out before he could do any real physical damage. Olivia fell to the ground with the man, which was all it took before he took off towards his fallen partner.

Usually they were calm about hostage situation, but this time there was so much more to lose.

"Do you want something to eat?" Olivia asked, turning and opening the fridge attempting to block her face with the door.

"No thanks." Elliot said quietly.

They hadn't talked about what had happened yet, and he was dreading the conversation.

"Liv-" he began.

"Stay with me." she said as she closed the fridge door. She looked straight into his bloodshot blue eyes. Blue on Brown.

He didn't say anything, just held out his hand. She took silently, and he led her to the bedroom.

He quickly stripped down to his boxers, she into one of his shirts and a pair of comfortable shorts, and they slid into bed together.

Let's take it slow I don't want to move to fast,

They stared at each other for a moment, as they lay there.

"I could have lost you." he whispered.

When you're up this high,
It's a sad goodbye

Olivia moved towards him. His arms wrapped around her, his face in her hair, hers where his shoulder met his neck. Their bodies were pressed tightly against one another, no space left in between.

"I could have lost you." she said, a tear rolling down her face.

Elliot raised his head from her hair, and tipped her chin up with his hand, forcing her to look at him.

"You will never lose me." he said.

Oh it feels so perfect baby.

And with that he kissed her. It was a kiss of passion, of fear, of lust, of need, but most importantly, of love. True, uninhibited love.

At that moment, they were one.

"I love you Elliot." she said.

"I love you too, Olivia." he said, wiping the tears that fell from her eyes.

Holding each other tight, they fell asleep together.
