Valentine
Neji walked along the bustling streets of Konoha, filled with happy couples celebrating Valentines day together, and wondered what he could get his official year long girlfriend. He had swept her off her feet with a genuine smile on Valentines day one year ago, and at the moment he had only flowers and chocolates for her. He wanted to propose. They were already 18, so he wanted to have something special for her today.
Flashback…
"Tenten." Neji stated. She was sitting on the riverside gazing out at seemingly air. Neji noticed she was unhappy.
"Neji…" Tenten said, Neji could feel the loneliness in her voice, and something else perhaps? Longing?
"What's wrong?" Neji asked, he seemed concerned as an astounded Tenten noted.
Tenten gave him a loving smile …Loving, Neji thought "It's Valentines day, and everywhere I look people are with their loved ones…" As Neji knew, both parents of Tenten had died when she was 16, and she wasn't completely over it just yet.
"Hn." Neji felt an urge to hold her suddenly. He took a locket from his pocket and tossed it to her.
Upon catching it, very easily I might add she asked, "What's this?"
"Will you be my Valentine?" he had a real smile upon his face.
End of Flashback
Neji walked into Tentens apartment, she was being distracted by Lee as a favor at the moment, and Neji decided to decorate the place.
On the bustling streets of Konoha Lee was helping Tenten look for the perfect gift for her sweetheart.
At Tentens Flat…
As Tenten walked into her apartment, she found it made up with roses and candles, as she walked up the stairs she found herself surrounded by hanging vines with bell flowers. 'Oh Neji…' Tenten found upon her bedside mirror, a note that said "Tenten, Meet me at the park. Dress nice, I have something important I need ask you. –Neji" and there she noted affectionately that he had left her a box of chocolates next to the note.
At the park…
Tenten walked up the path of the park with a natural grace few could acquire, she astonished her watching boyfriend. He marveled at her, she was wearing a pair of white pants that clung to her skin, and an off shoulder shirt that emphasized her curves. She walked up to her astounded love, and gave him a long kiss. Afterwards she slipped a small box into his fingers. He gazed at it and upon her approval he opened it to discover two tickets. He looked at her dubiously. She only laughed and kissed him again. "Tickets for our honeymoon, and of course, I accept."
"How did you know?" He smiled.
"Lee tipped me off. Sorry I didn't wait for you to ask." She looked at him with a plea for forgiveness in her eyes.
"It's ok, I like it better that way."
"Happy Valentine." They strolled off, hand in hand, into the night sky.
