(A/N) This little fic is written for my lovely friend Elfict! As she is a huge Twilight fan and very fond of running, this story is a combination of the two.

I'm so sorry it's so short, but I lost the story I had originally in mind for her so I had to start from scratch.

Anyhow, Happy "somewhat" belated Witselpostjesday, Elfict! (It's our very own not so national holiday.)

Disclaimer: I own noting! It all belongs to Stephanie Meyer; I'm just borrowing Bella for a bit.

Faster, faster, faster...

That was all Bella wanted for the moment.

Running as fast as possible was her sole purpose for now. Every step she took was like a gift from the gods. No longer she would trip or fall while running. Now she had the freedom to move. Nothing could stop her and nothing would.

Bella closed her eyes. Once she had been worried that Edward would hit something. How silly of her... Well, she hadn't been a vampire back then.

Vampire, vampire. The word still sounded strange, unreal. Yet that word had changed her life so drastically. Every time she looked in the mirror she still was awed. But the changes weren't only physical. Now she was aware of everything around her. She could smell it, hear it, feel it and even taste it.

Even with her eyes closed Bella wouldn't run into something. She knew these woods; she knew the exact place of every tree and every plant. These woods were home.

How long had she been gone? She didn't know. It didn't matter. There is no time while running; there is only the need to go faster. Something she gladly gave into.

Faster, faster, faster...

Could she do it? Could she move even faster?

Of course she could. Bella would never grow tired of the feeling of speed.

Trees flew by. Everything seemed irrelevant. Well, almost everything seemed irrelevant. Of course there still was the whole blood thing, one of the downsides of her transformation. Not that she had any regrets! No, certainly none of those, but that didn't make her hunger for blood less…Existing.

Suddenly She heard two steady heartbeats. She smiled and opened her topaz eyes. Those heartbeats were the only ones that didn't temp her. Those she could recognize anywhere.

It was almost shocking that those a tiny sounds could hold such a significance to her. But those little sounds weren't just any heartbeats. No, these where the heartbeats of her best friend and daughter. Jacob and Renesmee. Two persons she couldn't imagine live without.

Bella slowed. She no longer craved speed, it was merely a inconvenience that kept them apart.

She wanted to see them, smile at them and laugh with them. She reduced her speed even more. It was almost ridiculously slow now, any normal human could keep up with her. It didn't matter, in a matter of moments her loved ones would be here. The thought made her unbeating heart warm.

Speed was a wonderful thing, it was exciting, exhilarating and you grew tired of it but in was nothing against the most precious thing of all... Friendship.

The only thing that could stop her when nothing else would.

(A/N) Oh... And sorry for the huge delay, Elfict! I know, I owe you some M&M's :D
