Inseparable

"I miss you every second of every day." Raven snorted, soft giggles tumbling through her lips and out into the open. She felt Dexter's rumbling laughter, a sound that rarely failed to cheer her up.

"You're so cheesy." She snuggled deeper into his embrace, his arms wrapped firmly around her waist. His chin was resting on her shoulder, and his warm breath tickled her cheek. She could feel him smiling against her pale skin, could feel the steady beating of his heart, and felt completely at ease as they remained sitting on her bed, enjoying the other's company.

"Guilty as charged," Dexter answered, proud and unashamed. They'd only been dating for a few months, and he swore they were some of the happiest months of his life. They were also some of his most trying. While some people supported his relationship with Raven, a lot of people didn't, and hearing all the nasty, hateful things they said about his beloved made his blood boil in anger.

Darling and Daring were highly supportive of his relationship, as were all of his other friends, but his parents were still coming around to the idea. Hex, he still wasn't on speaking terms with them, refusing to come back home unless he absolutely had to. He was so done with letting how others' opinions get under his skin. Being with Raven was fableous, and he wasn't about to let anyone steal his happiness.

"I bet a lot of people think you must've flipped your crown for dating me. Most of the fairytales think I've bewitched you or something. It's interesting, to say the least," Raven mused, violet eyes narrowed thoughtfully, her lips tugged in a frown. Dexter was frowning too, heart thumping painfully, eyes brimming with resignation and sadness.

"I hate that fables like that are going around school. I just don't understand why they can't see how hexcellent and wonderlandiful you are. I guess are relationship was unhexpected, but anyone with eyes can see how much we care about each other, how hextactic we are with each other," Dexter sighed, briefly closing his eyes, his glasses slipping down his nose a bit before he absently pushed them back in place.

"Don't worry about them. I mean, I've definitely heard worse, being the daughter of the Evil Queen and all. I'm used to the ugly stares and cruel words, but you're a Charming. Everyone practically worships the ground you walk on, and now they're judging you because of me." Dexter moved so that they were face to face, his bright blue eyes gazing at her with an intensity that threatened to melt her very heart.

"Let them talk then. I honestly don't care how any of them feel about you or me. Their opinions don't matter, and they never will. You make me so happy, beyond happy, and I honestly don't care how they feel about it. I will never regret loving you or being with you, okay?" He knew he was being sappy again, could tell by the way she rolled her eyes and shook her head. But, she was smiling, her cheeks rosy with the faintest of blushes, and that was all that mattered to him. Her happiness was his happiness.
