Aang and Katara sat under the lanai. It'd been ten years since the end of the 100 year war. Finally, there was peace. Aang and Katara watched as people shot off their guns, it's scent littering the nights air. To celebrate the end of the year and the beginning of the new. They laughed as they watched a father try to teach his young son how to make an earthbending gun.
"Aang," Katara said staring up at the sky as Aang turned to look at her "Did you think we'd ever be celebrating such a joyous moment?" Katara turned to him smiling.
"No..." he smiled ""I didn't think I'd get this far." He shrugged. "I knew you and the others would be okay... but... I always questioned myself." He curled into his usual fetal position when he got upset.
"Aang, without you we would be dead. You're a hero." Aang looked at Katara and turned away. "You're my hero." Hearing that, Aang looked at Katara as she leaned in for a kiss. As they pulled away, and stared into one another's eyes. They laughed at each other's embarrassment.
Sokka walked out of the banquet hall.
"Why are you guys missing my wedding!?" Sokka said gripping Aang's bald head.
"We were just talking Sokka, the wedding has been over for an hour!" Katara stood, yelling at her brother.
"Well Aang's my best man and he needs to say words on my behalf!" Sokka folded his arms in annoyance.
Aang grabbed both their hands and walked back inside. Katara took a seat close to Suki and took her baby from the woman's arms. "Hello, my little Bumi."
As Aang let go of Sokka, he walked over to Toph and kissed her cheek. Aang walked to the podium, and smiled at his family. His real family.
"There's plenty to say about Toph and Sokka. I could tell you everything, but in the end. Toph and Sokka are a living example of goals. Ways to think, and people to strive to become. A perfect strategist, a strong friend, a moral compass. Pure hearted warriors. In the end it's not the years in your life that count. its the life in your years. To Sokka and Toph." Aang raised his glass.
"To Tokka!" Everyone yelled laughing.
"Nothing could make this day better." Aang said walking to Katara.
"I bet I could make it." She giggled as Aang raised her hand to his lips.
"How's that." He smiled.
"I'm pregnant again." Katara said wide eyed.
Aang fainted as everyone erupted into startled and hysterical laughter.
