This is a poem I wrote about how I interpreted Shuyin and Lenne's story in Final Fantasy X-2. Please don't flame, this is my first fanfic, er, fanpoem.
Disclaimer: I DO NOT own Final Fantasy X-2 or Shuyin or Lenne or any terms that come from FFX-2, and I'm not making any money off this poem, so you no sue? Kapeesh? This is ONLY for entertainment.
Okay, sooo... R&R please!
This Moment Is Enough
The love of a summoner and her guardian,
Is a love that causes confusion.
It's also the same kind of love,
That can't avoid a tragic conclusion.
The tale of a tragic couple,
A tale once hidden in darkness.
They accepted their sad conclusion,
Though their enemies remained heartless.
A thousand years ago,
Is when their story started.
A thousand years ago,
Their paths were meant to be parted.
They were forced to go to war,
Their families and friends destroyed.
The destruction of all they knew and loved,
Was something they couldn't avoid.
He was taken from her,
She was taken from him.
It was their final moments,
That made the world seem dim.
With the help of a trusted ally,
Together, they were brought back.
She was relieved, but he was still angry,
He wanted a final attack.
It didn't seem fair to him,
That she would have to die.
So he ended up dying with her,
To prove the war was a lie.
He would do anything to save her,
And he proved it that very night.
He fought 'til his very last breath for her,
It would be known as his final flight.
The soldiers came and cornered them,
All with guns in their hands.
These people defiled their religion,
It was "traitors" they just couldn't stand.
The tragic couple stood in silence,
For they knew that their time had come.
They knew their fate was decided,
But the battle, they knew, they had won.
All they had been through together,
It had been a perilous ride.
But through all of the bumps and bruises,
He had never left her side.
She was touched by how much he loved her,
And found there was only one thing to do.
She told him exactly how she felt,
And in turn, he told her too.
He was sorry he couldn't protect her,
But his presence was all she needed.
She would have sung a thousand words for him,
In her eyes, they had succeeded.
This moment was enough for them,
It was all that they had left.
This tragic tale of Shuyin and Lenne...
In our hearts is where it's kept.
