*sniff* I miss Gin T.T I'm probably gonna write another Gin/Ran thing where he's actually... uh, alive.
I don't own Bleach. Reviews are nice. Sorry for any mistakes in this.
In a small, secluded area of the grounds of the tenth division grew a lone Persimmons tree. It was barren, and very sick; one could see that it was near death.
Rangiku never had the time to care for it.
She stood by it now, hunched over a make-shift cross sticking out of the ground. It was rather crude, made hastily by the female shinigami herself. She straightened up and stepped backwards, starting at the cross next to the dying Persimmons tree.
A tear slid down her cheek as she reached for the golden chain that hung around her neck. She lifted it over her head and hung it around the neck of the cross. It was a simple grave, but it was more than she knew the Gotei 13 would have ever offered him. More importantly, it was a quiet way for her to remember him.
"Goodbye, Gin," she whispered.
She turned around and began to walk toward the main grounds of her division when a flash of white caught her eye. Turning to the right, she found Hitsugaya leaning against a tree, watching her. She stopped, beginning to feel like she had been caught doing something wrong.
"Captain… I…" she started, and looked back at the homemade gravesite, then back to her captain. He gazed back with solemn eyes.
"It's all right, Matsumoto," he stated. "If you want, we can find a better spot…"
"No! No… it's fine where it is." She smiled softly, grateful that her captain understood. "I like where it is."
"All right."
There was a moment of heavy silence as they both looked at the Persimmons tree next to the grave.
"That tree…" Hitsugaya said. "It's going to die."
"I know."
"We should have it cut down."
"No. Leave it."
Hitsugaya sighed. "Well then. Come on. There's work to do."
Rangiku gazed back at him with a sad smile. "Yes, captain."
