"Oh Gods, Bill, put that back in your pants!" Laura shook her head in disbelief, turning to pick a folder up from her desk. What had gotten into him? Before the ships' captains' meeting! Anyone could have walked in. She spun around to face him again. "Bill! Seriously. Now is not the time to play with your Viper."

"Alright, alright." He put the toy plane back in his pocket. He'd found it a couple of days ago while sorting through some boxes, clearing out extra space for Laura's possessions.

A toy that he had built himself for the boys when they were younger—Zak had claimed ownership of it and after... it had come back to him. Laura loved the look in his eyes whenever he had it in hand, but the last thing she needed was the fleet's captains arriving and seeing the Admiral playing with his Viper while she watched.

He made to sit down at the far end of the table, but she was having none of that "Oh no you don't. Up here, Adama. I don't want you down there where I can't keep an eye on you." Gods knew what he'd get up to.

"Laura, I'm not one of your students. You don't need to sit me at the front of class to keep an eye on me!"

Like hell I don't, she thought. "Sit. And don't answer back." She fired off a grin in his direction.

He laughed gently. "Yes, ma'am."

"And considering that insane excuse you came up with for the fuel report..."

"Hey! The dog did eat it. Lee had Jake with him last night for some absurd reason and he ate it. Jake, not Lee."

She rolled her eyes. It was going to be one of those days.

"Well really, Bill—no fuel report, playing with toys and you started a fight with another boy yesterday... I should really keep you back after class."

"He started that fight!! And he shouldn't have been hitting on my girl."

"Oh, he did not! And your girl can handle herself, thanks. Now are we going to have an issue today or can you behave long enough for us to get through this meeting?" She winked at him, swatting his head lightly with the folder.

"I'll be good. But this report is very confusing. I think I'll need some one-on-one tutoring this evening." His mischievous tone did not escape her, but his mood was contagious and his eyes had dropped to her legs.

"Oh, I'm suuuure that could be arranged. Wouldn't want you falling behind..." She hit the folder against the table to pull his gaze from her legs back up to her face.

"Right. Yes. No falling behind and dragging the rest of the class down."

She was temporarily distracted by thoughts of him dragging her down she grinned softly. "Hmmm. Oh. Yes. Exactly. But until then, keep your Viper in your pants and your eyes on the reports."
