Title: Unspoken Desires

Summary: Peter's no stranger to daydreams. Set during "Shadowboxing." Peter/Emma

Notes: Inspired by a scene in "Sinaloa Cowboys," an episode from the old NBC series "Boomtown," where a female paramedic has a brief daydream about herself and a detective

Peter set the tiara Megan had given him onto Emma's head, making them both smile. He then glanced down at the piano keyboard.

Slowly, he began pressing some keys, trying to find a melody without the aid of the colors to guide him.

Emma suddenly placed her left hand on top of his right one, making him stop and look up at her.

He wanted to ask her what she was doing, but all he could get out was "What--" before Emma started to lean in closer, making the rest of his words die in his throat.

Peter hardly dared to breathe as her face neared his, and he could feel her soft breath against his cheek just before—

A bright trill of notes jarred him from his reverie as Emma began playing the piano again. Blinking as he came out of his daydream, Peter studiously bent his head down, trying to concentrate on finding the right notes to turn her improvisation into a duet.
