Resistance: Fall of man: The Marine side

Chapter 1: Enlisting

The Chimera have invaded Europe, and most of the people are dead. Americas Navy and Coast Guard were completely wiped out. Now all that's left is the Air Force, Army, and Marines.

I had a brother in Europe visiting an old friend, and they were some of the first to die.

I heard the marines were looking for soldiers and I knew the marines were trained to the best. I decided to join. Avenge my brothers' death, and most of all, kill these mothers terrorizing my world. I'll get them the hell out of my world, and even maybe of theirs.

When I signed up, the man that had enlisted me had sergeant's stripes and was missing a leg. It gave me the shivers, and gave me another reason to kill these god damned chimera.

I filled out my papers. The sergeant told me to be here by 0800 in two days. I guess he just wasn't used to saying 8 o'clock anymore.

I returned to a bus that would take me from my home in North Carolina to the Okinawa marine training camp.

They trained me through some heavy shit. If I explained it, it would take too much time. Basically all they did was yell at us and make us shoot blanks at targets. Deer hunting back home was funner.

Next I was shipped to some place in Arizona. There they taught me how to be a sniper. I told them I didn't want to snipe.

"Give me my rifle and I'll show you what I can do." I said to the DI. Talking back to them isn't necessarily the best thing to do, but it might just get you where you want.

I was 500 meters away and hit in the center or on the circle around it with all 30 bullets in the clip of my M-1 carbine.

Apparently that was enough for them. It convinced them to let me be a rifle man and they even actually gave me a stripe to be a PFC (private first class). I was happy.

Now it was time to ship off again. This time it was to Europe though.

It was some where in Paris, and when we got off the plane, we had no guns. Not even equipment, just our suits. And I never bothered to make friends at the camps. I guess I just wanted to kill these Chimera.

I wanted my rifle. We could get ambushed by a group of Chimera now and all die.

I finally asked one of the sergeants if I could have a rifle and all he told me to do was get back in the group.

My name was PFC Crenshaw and was a sweaty boot grunt marine in the deadly Chimeran war.
