One Choice
The possibility of Jason being alive was gnawing at her. Her friend who helped her move on from Stone, the friend who convinced her to keep living, was lying in a frozen state. However, she also knew that Victor could be lying. Cassadines weren't above it. They were good at manipulation.
She looked at the picture in her hand and sighed. She thought about Sam and Danny. What would Sam think about this? She had a right to know. She should be the one going to find her husband.
She had a choice to make but how could she leave her husband and child? She just got home and she knew Patrick wasn't going to understand if she opted to go. He would be pissed and rightfully so. Then there was Emma. Her baby who needed her mother.
Emma couldn't grow up without a mother like she did for a chunk of her life. Robin set the picture down and sat at the living room table.
"Why does it have to be me?" she muttered.
She was so lost in thought that she didn't hear Patrick come in. He touched her shoulders and she jumped thinking it was one of Victor's men.
"Robin, it's me," he said concerned.
"Sorry," she said looking up at him. "Just thinking about something." He kissed the top of her head.
"Where's Emma?" she asked.
"At Liz's," he responded. She nodded relieved.
Patrick narrowed his eyes when Robin started to bite her lip. She was nervous about something. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," she replied. "Why?"
"You seem nervous," he responded.
"Nope," she said. He narrowed his eyes once again but didn't push. He went to the bedroom to change clothes.
She started to take deep breaths to calm herself down. "Pull it together," she said to herself. "You can make rational choices. Just tell him."
"Tell me what?"
Her body went rigid. She stood up with an agonizing look in her eyes. "Patrick...
"What is it? You can tell me. Is it your protocol? PTSD? What?" he rambled.
"No. It-it isn't any of those things. This is about Jason."
He stood there confused. "What about him?"
"He might be alive," she said calmly. "And I'm the one who is supposed to bring him back."
"Back from where? He's dead," he countered. "Where is this coming from?"
She picked up the picture and held it in front of her. "Victor Cassadine brought this to me earlier. He and two of his men broke into the house. He wants me to bring back Helena and Stavros Cassadine since I so successfully came up with a cure. I told him no. Then he showed me a picture of Jason as some incentive."
Patrick rubbed his face. He looked at her. "What did you decide?"
"I want to go but I can't leave you behind. For all I know this is a trap. If I don't go, Danny won't have a father. Sam won't have her husband."
"Then let Sam deal with it. Victor Cassadine had no right coming to you with this. He wants to rip our family apart so he can bring back his. Robin, you can't go. You can make the choice not to go."
She looked at Jason's picture again. "What if it's true?"
"And if it's not? Then what? We've spent two years without you. Emma spent many nights clutching your picture because she thought mommy was in heaven watching over her. You have a choice to make. Stay with us."
She let out a shaky breath. "But Victor-
He walked up to her. "I won't let anyone come between us. No one is taking you away from us."
Robin nodded her head. She knew then that she couldn't go and leave her family behind.
