-THIS PIECE OF FANFICTION IS A JOKE. PLEASE KEEP THAT IN MIND AS YOU READ THROUGH THIS THING.-

Chapter 1: In Which We Meet Our #edgyy Character

Maura isn't your average girl. She isn't glued to her phone 24/7, she doesn't wear ugly Christmas sweaters and leggings and Ugg boots. She doesn't gossip with her BFFs and all that jazz. No, she is what most people would describe as really, really #2edgy4u

Seriously. She's an antisocial loner (how redundant) who wears black from head to toe as if she's not aware that all that black will absorb heat which will probably give her a heat stroke eventually. No wonder nobody goes near her. And to add more frosting to the metaphorical cake, she... likes Death Note. I think I vomited internally while writing that sentence. No wonder nobody wants to go near her. Wow, she's weird.

Oh, if only she could somehow get transported into the Death Note world. Oh man, it's a fangirl's dream! Unfortunately for her, she's stuck in the real world, where there's no L to drool over, and she has to put up with real people, which is a bore. How she wishes and wishes to be a part of their world, (at best, she'd probably be just a pedestrian) but alas! It's not meant to be. Which is why she angsts about it all the time and locks herself in her room when given the chance. Nice try, kid. Go to school.

And this is where this poorly-executed story begins. Yes. With Maura walking to school. Thinking about how "kawaii" L is. And how it's terrible that he died. Even though his death is pretty much very important to the plot, she, like other "fangirls" aren't aware of this. I think I'm beginning to rant here. I digress. Anyway, she has now reached her school, which is your average American school and since I don't live in America, I'll leave it's description to your imagination.

So she's sitting in her desk, which for some unknown reason, just so happens to be the third seat by the window, so she has the luxury of looking down and watching passersby like any anime character worth their salt. And suddenly, she started feeling dizzy and blacked out! Wow!
