Dead star shine light up the sky

Daylight dies

Blackout the sky

Does anyone care?

Is anybody there?

Take this life

Empty inside

I'm already dead

I'll rise to fall again

Breaking Benjamin

He's bleeding, and it's her fault.

she knows him too well, knows he'll pick her up when she's down and he did and now

he's bleeding because there are these shattered sparkling pieces of her spread on the dark earth and shards of her heart falling like coloured glass from the sky

(and they're beautiful)

only they are sharpsharpsharp like her tongue and her wit and her sense of humour

and they'll cutcutcut his skin

(his heart)

as he tries to pick them up and fit her back together again

but she's that funny kind of broken that just won't be fixed for any amount of glue

(and he's fast running out)

but he keeps on gathering her shreds of star-studded silk and

now he's bleeding and bleeding and bleeding and his heart and soul are pouring out of the holes in his skin but

still he won't stop

(can't stop)

because he has to fix her, no one else will and maybe he's some kind of masochist but he doesn't know because

he's not one to attach fancy unnecessary names to feelings that don't need to be caught in webs of words

she's out of his control

but she was never in control anyway, let alone his

and she's a wreck of a train that's hurtling towards its end

and he's there, and he'll stop her

and they'll both explode into thousands of shattered pieces that will shine against the dark earth like stars

but at least they'll be together

and why does he do this to them (to him) when he has cool and calm and collected and beautiful and kind and perfectjust waiting for him and (it's because) she's safe (and boring) and then there's fire (and he wants it) and she's wild and fierce and (broken) FANTASTIC and she'll BURN him but what the heck;-

he's so damaged already from trying to stick her back together that a few more scars won't hurt

they'll be worth it

if only she'll love him

but he's so old and why would she love him and if he's honest he doesn't know

but she doesand now it doesn't matter that he's running out of glue because

she can stick herself back together because

she has him

(she's had him since the beginning)

and he's hers

(he's been hers all along)

and they can't pretend it's any different any more

(they've been pretending for so long it's like they didn't know what was real but now)

they know that real is this

(because it has to be)

because they are

together

and together they will

explode

in thousands of glittering pieces

that will line the velvet skies with wishes

and they'll burn together.
