Author's Note: This whole thing will be a mixture of book and show Sophie-Anne with her history and background being more based on the books than the show. That's just how I like her best.
That being said, I don't have a beta. I do proofread all my stuff, that doesn't mean I don't miss small mistakes. I know there may be some things I may miss.
A woman's screams are heard throughout the stone castle. A man is away on a hunt. He knew his wife was near her date and he didn't want any part of it. He'd bring her a pelt home to make up for it. After all the winters in Lotharingia were cold and harsh.
Women rush around, no men in sight except the one man of clergy. The town's priest come to baptize the baby at birth. Water is heated in the fireplace and brought to the Lady's side. Cloths are placed upon her head as she is urged that she can and will do this.
Some twelve hours later another pair of lungs sounds. A baby's wail is heard and one hand maiden rushes from the room to alert a boy standing in the hall. Within moments bells are tolling. It is the middle of the night, but everyone in the village is woken to hear the news of the little Lady born on this The Lord's Day, the 19th of January in the Lord's year 952 AD.
The screaming baby is cleaned and handed off to the priest if only for a moment. She quiets, but is soon screaming again as holy water is poured on her head. "I baptize you in the name of our father, the ghost and the holy spirit, Judith Beaulieu of Lotharingia."
