Sacrificing himself for Sherman's safety, Mr. Peabody is slammed against a wall after jumping in front of Sherman to save him from a powerful blow. Sherman then retaliates by going berserk in an all out barrage of attacks and swings, pushing the foe to an abyss. It falls to its death. Sherman then runs to Mr. Peabody worried, hoping that he is isn't gone. He picks him up in his arms and mourns over a seemingly definite loss. Suddenly, Peabody opens his eyes, but he barks like the canine he is. Sherman immediately panics, repeatedly yelling his name over and over. He licks Sherman as if he is his master. Sherman cries, he cries. Mr. Peabody lost his intelligence and all he has amassed shatters into the ash over the flames of his absence, unclaimed by his lost memories. Sherman, disdained, believes he will one day return. Sherman returns to his minutes became hours, hours became days, days became months, and months became years. Resentment and hatred had grown in Sherman, both for himself and for Mr. Peabody. Sherman, now a grown man, stares at Peabody. Peabody pants and wags his tail, happy. He takes him out for a walk. A far, distant walk. Peabody, eager with joy, prances around Sherman, but Sherman remains unfettered in emotion, monotonously walking toward the horizon in the park. Sherman stops. He unleashes Peabody. Sherman, in tears, tells him if he is really there, if he's still the Peabody he knew and loved, to please come back. Peabody only licked away the salty tears Sherman let fall down his face in streams. Sherman begs him once more, to please come back. But Peabody only licked the tears away... Sherman stood up and walked away... Peabody started to follow him. Sherman turned and pointed the other way. He told him to not follow him. Peabody, still, wags his tail and sits. Sherman continued to walk forward, away from Peabody. Peabody then runs towards him and stops him, still, wagging his tail. Sherman becomes enraged and yells to the top of his lungs for Peabody to stop following him. Peabody, now deterred, now saddened, sits and stays in place for having disappointed his master. Sherman walks away and actually gets some distance away from Peabody. Peabody depressed howls... Sherman cries... This was their last goodbye...
