A/N So I've never written a one-shot before, but I was watching the last episode of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and I loved this song in it and I'm actually sobbing right now. So I decided to take one of my favourite ships and make it a one-shot inspired by the song. Please enjoy! The song is Reflecting Light by Sam Phillips and I strongly recommend you listen to it while reading!

Got off and looked up

My dark heart lit up the skies
Dan walks alone, he looks around at the dark city. He has absolutely no idea where he is going, but Phil told him where to go, and Dan trusts him with his life. Still, he found the situation very odd. Before he can think to much about it, he keeps walking, following the vague instructions Phil gave him. If Phil get's him lost in the middle of the night, Dan would be very mad at him. He looks up at his surroundings, realizing where he is.
He smiles, remembering the time he and Phil played Pokemon GO! in this park. He walks towards the center of the park, slowly, to make sure Phil has set up whatever he has planned. His stomach growls, reminding Dan that it was dinner time. He ignores it, hoping Phil has something planned. As he get's closer to his destination, he notices lights appearing, they're strung in trees, sticking out of the ground, lining his path, everywhere. Dan smiles and shakes his head, what on earth has Phil planned?
As he reaches the clearing where he was told to meet Phil, about 100 meters away, he sees a picnic blanket and basket. There are lights everywhere, and when Dan looks up, he sees the big full moon. He hears a radio click and a song starts to play. Dan's eyes meet Phil, as Phil approaches and grabs his hand, pulling him towards the blanket. As they sit down, Dan notices food in the basket. He grins, Phil came prepared. Phil clears his throat nervously, and he shifts to face Dan. He takes a deep breath, grabs Dan's hand and pulls out a box. Dan's mouth opens in shock, and then, Phil lowly singing along to the song.

Dan's eyes start tearing up and Phil grins. "Daniel James Howell, I look at you and I see my whole world. To quote the song, you have me on my knees in fascination. I love you and I will never stop loving you. So will you do me the honour of being my husband?" Phil asks, his eyes sparkling in the moonlight. Dan nods and leans forward, softly pressing his lips against is his fiance's. After they pull apart, Dan says softly, "I'd be crazy to say no, you make me feel loved and safe. I never want to forget that feeling. So, yes, Phillip Michael Lester, a thousand times yes."
