Pokémon: Ash's Inner Quest
Chapter 1: Charizard Defeated
It's the grand finals of the Kalos League, Ash Ketchum, a 10 year old boy from Pallet Town, and Alain, a mysterious trainer with the ability to Mega Evolve his Charizard, are down to their very last pokemon to see who will take the championship. Greninja, a gecko Pokémon whom Ash was able to evolve further with Synchro Evolution, a mysterious evolution from the bond between a trainer and his pokemon, is charging up a Mega Water Shuriken, while Mega Charizard is charging up a Blast Burn. It's here where Team Flare Boss Lysandre decides to step in and hand motions a grunt's Weavile to sneak into the smokescreen the massive impact of the two attacks leave behind. Weavile glares at Charizard who looks at it with widened eyes as Weavile strikes it down with a Poison Jab and escapes with insane speed before the smoke settles. Diantha, the champion of the Kalos League, refuses to speak up after her Gardevoir detects something is wrong, as she thinks to herself "The Kalos League's reputation would be tarnished without a doubt if word got out about this…".
Serena looks at Charizard wincing in pain once the smoke settles as it collapses to the ground, breathing heavily. Alain shouts "CHARIZARD! CHARIZARD WHAT'S WRONG?!" as an emergency hospital unit manages to lift the Charizard, now reverted back into its normal state, and carry it into the hospital room, Alain running to chase after the unit before being told to stop at the emergency room by one of the members. Alain struggles not to cry as he bangs his head against the wall once and yells out in tears, knowing that something has gone terribly wrong.
Ash looks inward from Alain's side of the battlefield as Greninja, also reverted to its regular form, is put inside his pokéball and Ash places said ball on his pocket with his other pokemon as him and Pikachu walk towards the sounds of sadness and sorrow. Alain hears Ash coming
"Was all that talk of friendship and bonds a lie?" Ash looks at him with confusion. Alain repeats himself, much louder this time and sniffling over his Pokémon being poisoned, to which Ash puts his right hand on Alain's shoulder and uses his other hand to hand Alain his hat "I would never, do anything, to hurt your Charizard. Something's going on here and I'm going to find out what." as Pikachu adds on to his statement "Pika pi!" Diantha uses this opportunity to speak to Alain and Ash at the same spot and tell them what's going on "I'll allow you to see Charizard Alain, although it's very unlikely that taking the brute force of two attacks at once as well as the obvious poison effects on your Charizard will mean that he's well."
"Anything, just let me see him." Alain says as Serena comes down to see Ash, hugging and congratulating him "Way to go Ash!...Wait, what's wrong Alain?"
"It's...it's Charizard, he's being taken to the ER room and…" Alain says, as Ash nods his head in disagreement that Charizard isn't going to recover from Greninja and the mysterious source's attacks.
"That wasn't a fair finish, I promise Charizard is going to be ok, and when he fully recovers we're having our rematch; is that fair Alain?" Ash says, holding his hand out towards Alain
"You got it Ash. Before you know it, my Charizard will be able to synchro evolve too! He's strong enough to handle a little poison!"
And the door to the emergency room opens.
