"I'm ready," was all that came out of Donna's mouth when she saw her.

The blonde she had been seeing all this time. Through all this chaos that had developed in her life, this woman was the one constant factor. Rose was always there. Whether she knew it or not.

Three weeks had passed since their last meeting in the park. Rose had said this day would come. The day where she would go to her death. Even though three weeks ago, Donna felt like her whole life was worthless, now she knew her purpose. Her purpose was to die. Die for something greater then herself. Die for something she didn't even understand.

She was doing it for this Doctor. This man that she had never known, yet somehow Rose said she did. However, Donna wasn't doing it just for this invisible man. She was also doing it for Rose. Her Rose.

"Time and Relative Dimension in Space. This room used to shine with light. I think it's dying. Still trying to help," Rose explained as her and Donna walked inside the old Police Box.

"And it belonged to the Doctor?" Donna asked looking around in awe of the size it was compared to what it seemed on the outside.

Rose nodded, "He was a Time Lord. Last of his kind."

"But if he was so special, what was he doing with me?" Donna asked shaking her head in disbelief of what Rose was saying.

"He thought you were brilliant," Rose replied putting a hand on Donna's shoulder as she stepped closer to her.

"Don't be stupid," she mumbled looking down at the console of the TARDIS.

Rose gently shifted Donna around to face her, both hands on her shoulders. Donna didn't even want to look at her. She just kept staring at the floor. She honestly felt like she was nothing. No one. Why would this Doctor think anything different?

Rose lifted Donna's chin up smiling, "I think you're brilliant."

"Oh come off it already!" she retorted moving Rose's hands off of her as she starting walking towards the door.

"But you are! Why don't you believe me? Why can't you just see what I see in you?" Rose called out desperately pleading for her to come back.

Donna stopped as she had one hand on the doors. Exhaustion came upon her. She leaned forward, pressing her head on the doors and closed her eyes. What was she doing here? What was the point of all this? She didn't need this. All this was nonsense. She just wanted to go home. Yet when she thought of what her home had become, she just felt trapped.

Trapped in her own existence.

She felt a hand being placed on her shoulder. That soft touch of Rose.

"Donna please don't go. I need you," Rose said softly as she gently rubbed Donna's shoulder.

"I thought I knew-," Donna's voice crackled, "I thought maybe-"

It was barely a whisper. Her voice was shaky. A tear fell down her cheek. Rose stepped in closer and Donna turned towards her. Rose could see the same woman in front of her that she saw last time. A woman who felt hopeless. She put out her arms and Donna leaned in and cradled her face onto her shoulders. They wrapped themselves together in pure comfort.

Donna felt like she was sinking in those arms. Her arms were like the ocean, enveloping her in a sweet trance of learning to let go. Let everything go; All the stress, the anger, the sadness, the fluttering cloudiness of her mind that was trying to pry out memories that were cluttered away.

"Please never let me go," came a whisper from Donna still resting her head on Rose's shoulder.

"Never," Rose replied stroking Donna's hair as she tightened their embrace with a mixture of strength and support.

Donna closed her eyes and for the first time, she felt it was okay to drown in these arms. To sink away. She felt safe.
