The wasteland. A merciless place. How should I know you ask? True. I was born in the Vault but remember I spent most of my life in the wasteland. My name's Hunter Rivera. I'm the older brother of my two younger siblings. Aiden Rivera, the youngest, and Luis Rivera, the middle child. Us three lived a Vault for the first 20, 19, and 18 years of our lives with our dad. Don't know what a Vault is? Well in 2077 the US was destroyed by the Nuclear War. (aka The Great War) Luckily people built Vaults underneath the ground to preserve the human kind. And well it kind of worked. Most of the Vaults turned out to be just twisted experiments. But some turned out to be helpful.
Me, my siblings, and my dad entered Vault 21 located in Washington DC. My mom wasn't allowed inside due to the Vault only having 4 spots left. Life in the Vault wasn't as bad as I put it. But at times it felt weird and boring in there. In Vault 21 was designed to be a home for it's residents. When you become 10 you get something called a "Pipboy 3000." It's kind of like a "super watch." And by the time your 16 you have to take some sort of test called "The G.O.A.T." We've grew up in the Vault with the Overseer "brainwashing" us to think that the Vault was heaven or some shit like that. As I got older I started thinking: Why are we limited to the Vault only? They just said the same thing everyone says: "Because the Vault shields us from the harshness of the Capital Wasteland." Bullshit…
