My home is being destroyed before my own eyes. I breathe in and out slowly. I concentrate on my heartbeat, and heave a sigh. I open one eye. It's all gone. Again, I try to focus on my breaths." It was just a dream. It was just a dream.", I mumble to myself. Why does it have to be me, of all people, with such awful dreams, why do I, have to be different?
Chapter 1
I wake up in the middle of the night. I force myself not to think about the dream. It is okay. I go and check on my little brother, who is twelve. He is obsessed with Harry Potter, and considers himself a " Raven claw", whatever that is. I smile as I watch him sleep, So peaceful, snuggled up against has huge teddy bear, Jell-o. I pull Jello out of his grip, and get into his bed, so silently that he is still sound asleep. I curl up against him, and fall of into a deep, peaceful, dreamless sleep. I wake up to Toby, Groaning. He says" Really, You're just about as bad as Snape, You woke me up! Wait, Today is April !, 2014! It's Fred and George's Birthday! Uh huh, Uh huh Uh huh! Today is April Fools day, Today is April Fools day!" ,
" Wow !" I reply, "You wake up reeeallly Fast!" . What trick am I going to play on him? I wonder.
By 7:35, I've made up my mind: I'm going to play a spider joke on him. He's terrified of spiders. He says it's a Ron thing. Who the Hade-heck is Ron?
A shiver goes down my spine. I'd been about to think 'Hades'. That wasn't right. I don't know who Hades is.
Hades...
I think he was in one of my dreams. I'm pretty sure he was. I think...I don't know.
I don't have time to ponder. It's time to go to school. "Toby," I call. "Come here. Can I brush your hair?"
"What? No!" he protests. But I insist. I brush most of his hair, and then I scream: "oh my gods!"
Where did that come from? I shiver.
"What's wrong?" yells Toby.
"It's a spider!"
"Oh Merlin, oh Godric, oh Salazar-"
"Stop swearing and give me a hand!"
"I'm not swearing! Take the spider out!"
"Are you crazy? No! Holy Hera, Holy Hephaestus, Holy-"
"SHUT UP AND TAKE IT OUT!"
"Holy Zeus, Holy Hades...wait, weren't these gods?" I say.
"Yes, they were! Take out the spider," he says tearfully.
"There wasn't one," I mutter. I'm in a bad mood now. I learned about the gods in first grade, and I haven't remembered them since. What if this connects to the dream I had?
"There WASN'T one?" he yells. "What was that for?"
"It's not like I'm going to be sent to Hades," I mutter.
