Sorry! This is my first story that I've actually am uploading! Please be kind if you decide to review! Thank you!
Right after the "Angels Take Manhattan" episode.
"There is still a part of me that longs for you Doctor, you and those damned adventures," you whisper between rushed breaths. It has been almost been two years since he left you. The sounds of his TARDIS still fresh in your mind, and the wounds still cut onto your heart. "But I can't do this anymore." You start to push him away, but there is more strength behind that bow-tie than you anticipated.
"Please." He begs, holding onto you. "I just need someone to hold me." He pleads. You could see the tears that were starting to form in his eyes. You have never seen him like this before. He looked vulnerable, and you just couldn't shove him away.
You put your hands on his face and look deep into his eyes. You gasp at all the sadness you see. "What happened?" You try to get him to open up; something that you know is hard for him. "Please tell me." You whisper, afraid that if you talked any loader then he might run away like a frightened cat.
"I… I…" He starts. You could see his hearts breaking. Tears start to stream down his face as he recalls the events that have left him shattered. "They're gone! And there's nothing I can do to change it!" He just falls to his knees, all the tears he was trying to hold back flood his face. He looked like a frail child.
"Amelia and Rory?" You ask, afraid that the answer was yes. You remember when he would come to visit, and all he would talk about would be those two. You know how much they meant to him, how much he cared. All he could muster was a very slight nod. Quickly you rush to your kitchen, thankful that you had already had a pot of water boiling. You grab a cup down from the cabinet and pour the amber fluid in, the smell of fresh brewed tea filling your house. You walk back into the living room and help him onto the couch.
"I tried…" was all he kept saying. It was obvious that he was shattered. You sit him on the couch and hand him the cup.
"Here," you say. "I know this doesn't help at all." He just looks at the cup and you barely hear him mutter thank you. You quietly sit next to him, and put your hand on his arm. You hope that this is enough to show him that he isn't alone.
Before you know what he's doing, he touches your face and puts your foreheads together. Suddenly images are flowing through you mind. You see Amelia and Rory on the ledge of a building and watch them fall. You hear a familiar voice shout, and then the whole scenery changes. Now you find yourself in a graveyard with Amelia staring at an angel.
"Come along Pond" You hear the Doctor say. "Please." You can hear the agony in his voice as he watches his lifelong friend start to turn towards him. "Goodbye raggedy man," you hear Amelia say and then she just vanishes, and all the pain and tragedy of the moment washes over you as you see the Doctor fall to his knees and weep. A woman tries to get him up and forces him into the TARDIS.
You hear the all too familiar sound and find yourself back in your living room. You throw your arms around the frail man in the bowtie and suspenders. You don't even care that you knock the cup of tea onto the floor. All you want to do is hold him Hold the Doctor in a tight embrace as your own tears stream down you face. You can hear the heart wrenching sounds escaping the Doctor's lips, and you wish there was something, anything you can do to stop them. "I'm sorry," is all you can say as you hold him. Everything from your past is forgotten, and all you want to do is protect this man.
