Author's Note: Happy 10/10/10...decided to write a one-shot for this occasion and after reading a new chapter of the 2009 special. All I can say is that I loved it and I'll be sad when the last chapter of the special is posted. I hope there will be more little ons-shots in the future. Sorry for this one shot to be really short and drabble like.

A Complete Mystery

by: Higasa

To Sawada Shin who could figure out crossword puzzles in less than five minutes, solve a rubix cube like it was something that he did everyday in his life, there was only one thing that he couldn't solve and that was his former homeroom and math teacher Yamaguchi Kumiko.

She was a complete mystery to him. Her happy-go-lucky attitude which could do a 360 degree change to being fierce, the fights she gotten them into (well of course it was his classmates who started the fights most of the times), and her yakuza family background. He tried to make sense of her, but she was just hard to figure out. Much harder than those ridiculous easy math problems she always give.

But those weren't the hardest things. No, the hardest was trying to figure out her feelings towards him. He had told her several times that he was in love with her and every time he did she either 1. didn't take him seriously, 2. laughed it off as though he had told her some funny joke or 3. completely ignored that he had confessed to her.

He didn't care what others thought. They were (had been) a student and teacher, but now that he was a Toudai University student majoring in law the relationship between them she be different now right? He sipped on his cup of coffee and glanced at the clock that was behind Yankumi. They had been in the coffee shop for at least an hour and Yankumi was still going on and on about her newest troublemaking students.

Shin allowed a small smirk escaped his lips. "What's so funny?" Yankumi scowled, narrowing her eyes at him. He shook his head and gestured to her that she continue with her story. Although it was fine that he couldn't figure her out and can be completely unpredictable at times (or predictable depending how you look at it), he knew that she was interesting and that's why he fell in love with her in the first place.
