A poem I wrote, inspired by the movie. This isn't how I would have wanted the movie to end, but this kinda suits the feelng that the actual ending gave me. Well, that and I wrote it for my English class, and had to incoorporate the idea of 'time is running out' into the piece. ^^'

I generally don't write poems (mostly because I'm not all that good at it) so please forgive me if it's terrible.

Do your best to enjoy!

You said you'd wait for me,

And I said I'd come running.

But now I'm stuck here,

At the train station,

Paralysed.

--

I'm too scared to move,

And the train's not going to wait.

I get swept along by the crowd,

Hemmed in by the sea of bodies,

I'm trapped,

I can't move,

I can't breathe.

--

The rush of the train rips the air from my lungs,

I want to get off,

I want to run to you,

But I can't,

Because it's a run away train,

And it's not going to wait for anybody,

Least of all me.

--

You said you'd wait for me,

And I said I'd come running,

But I guess those were all lies weren't they?

Stupid sweet nothings,

Whispered in the spur of the moment.

Because I guess I should have known,

On a train like this,

You can no more wait,

Than I can run.

--

And maybe we should just admit to ourselves,

What we knew in the beginning,

That time is running out,

Because I can't run fast enough,

And you can't wait forever.
