Blush

I stood at the doorway of his house, biting my lip as I knocked.

He opened the door in his normal clothes, his orange hair tousled. His blue eyes were sleepy but focused as soon as they saw me.

"Jinx?" He asked somewhat incredulously.

"Who else?" I shrugged.

His usual cocky grin settled onto his face and he leant against the doorframe.

He looked me up and down, then frowned slightly, "you must me freezing." I nodded. He took my hand and lead me inside, shutting the door behind him.

"This isn't really my house," he said as I puled out of his grip. "Its The Flash's."

I raised an eyebrow, pausing in my inspection.

"Do you really think I would go around as Kid Flash is Flash wasn't already taken?"

"Oh good, I was hoping you had better tastes."

He laughed "So what about you? Did you get to pick your codename or was it forced upon you like so many bad eggs?" I went quiet for a moment then shrugged, "its not my codename, its my actual name. My parents must have hated me or something."

"Boy, I like this city," he laughed, shaking his head. "All you people make me feel so positively normal."

He sat on the couch and glanced over at me. I wasn't that comfortable with the idea of him, so I just leant on the wall. I wasn't bold enough to sit that close to him yet. "But you are positively normal."

"You obviously haven't seen my obsession for food yet."

I glanced at him, he smiled back.

After a minute he turned to me and cocked his head. "Are you hungry?"

Theres one thing I don't get about this guy. I show up at his house, he doesn't seem to care what I am doing here in the first place, asks if I'm cold, lets me into his house and then asks me if I'm hungry.

"...yeah." I hadn't realised it yet but I hadn't eaten since yesterday before I ditched the Hive Five.

"Great! Come on, the coffee shop awaits us."

"So you finally decided to take my advice, huh?" He grinned.

"Why else do you think I showed up at your house?" I answered, "I have nowhere else to go."

"Well then, you can definitely stay with me. He said nodding in agreement with himself. He smiled at me, a little shyly.

"So you quit the Hive?" There was amusement in his voice as he mentioned their ill-fitting name.

"Yeah. There actually five now, you should be proud."

He laughed "I can see my new tagline now: stomping out the mathematical irregularities in the world."

Now it was my turn to laugh

"You know," he started "your smile is actually really pretty when your not taunting me."

"Hey, you never did tell me why you were stuck with the Hive for so long." He continued.

I shrugged. "I don't know really... they were the closest thing I had to a family I guess. They looked up to me... and even though at times they really annoy me, now..." I looked over at him and shrugged, feeling vaguely uncomfortable.

"But if I annoy you, then why did you come to me?" He asked smugly.

"Because your the one who made me quit the Hive in the first place!"

"And to be honest, I'm glad I did." He beamed "I really like you a lot, you know."

"Ummm..." I could feel the red blush beginning to creep onto my face.

"Your pretty when you blush," he said, obviously enjoying my discomfort.

"I never noticed." I replied stiffly.

He frowned at me for a second, looking indecisive, and then...

...he kissed me.
