Disclaimer: I own nothing

I fixed this...it's still corny...just slightly tweaked(like that new car commercial.)

All we are, all we are is everything that's right

All we need, all we need, a lover's alibi

All We Are

She sat there anxiously listening to different people, people whose names she couldn't remember, debate over the approaching war. Whether or not it was truly coming, what they were to do if it came, their lack of numbers, the list went on. She was so distracted and she knew, she could hear her mother's voice tell her, aurors do not get distracted.

God it all seemed so easy in the beginning. It all seemed so easy when she was at school, but this wasn't school anymore. There was no chance to do over your mistakes.

She sat in the library after Moody and Kingsley had left. She was laying upside down on the couch, the tips of her purple hair touching the ground. Her mother used to yell so loud when she would lay like this at home, but she wasn't going to get yelled at this time because she wasn't at home.

"What in the world are you doing?"

She heard a laugh and looked up, or down, to see the upside down figure of Remus Lupin standing in the doorway. She smiled at him, even upside down he looked gorgeous. She wondered lightly, as she sat up, if he was aware of that.

"I was clearing my head. It's relaxing, you should try it sometime."

"Oh? Well I'll have to remember that." Remus smiled and crossed the room to sit next to her.

Tonks smiled at him and reached up to fix her hair. He laughed again and grabbed her hand before she could fix her hair. She sent him an empty glare as he kissed the inside of wrist and trailed kisses up to her elbow.

Remus looked up at her again when he heard a giggle. She was laughing and trying to pull her arm away. He pulled her to him and she stuck her tongue out at him and settled herself on his lap. He took advantage of it and captured her lips for a sweet kiss.

"What?" She felt like a school girl again, all giddy and in love.

"What do you mean what?" One of her favorite looks of Remus' was when he faked confusion.

"You kept giving me looks during the meeting."

"Oh yes that. Well, here move over. Thank you." Remus stood up and rummaged around in his jumper pocket for a moment before pulling out a piece of string. "Give me your hand...no the other one. Yes thank you love.

" Nymphadora...let me finish...Nymphadora Tonks," Remus took the string and carefully tied it around her ring finger. "This makes a perfect circle. It never begins and it never ends. It always was and it always will be. This is us. We have been perfectly in love, even when we were not aware. We will be this way until the end of time, even after the world has ended and our lives have come to a stop. And like this circle never ends," He rummaged around in his jumper pocket again pulling something out, though she couldn't tell what. "Neither will my love for you."

He slid a white gold ring down the string, and watched as it landed perfectly around her finger. The second it was in place the string vanished and she looked up at him, tears in her eyes.

"Marry me."

"Of course!!" Tonks jumped up throwing her arms around his neck and kissing him. All to quickly she pulled back and looked at him as if remembering something important.

"Remus! how manytimes have I told you NOT to call me NYMPHADORA!!"

Remus laughed before taking off down the hall, Tonks close behind. (She was until she tripped over the umbrella stand of course.) Remus turned back and laughed.

"You just declared your undying love for me and you won't even help me up."

"No."

"What kind of a person are you?"

"One who doesn't want to die soon."

Remus laughed and hurried up the stairs, Tonks pulling herself up and chasing after him, laughing as well.

She was wrong, this was home.
