Summary: Luna finds that she's not alone in the corridors after Slughorn's Christmas party.

Reviews are always welcome

Coming back from Slughorn's Christmas party alone, Luna Lovegood found herself surprisingly happy. She may have come to the party on Harry's arm, but even though he managed to slip off to only Merlin knows where, it lifted her heart to know that he didn't mind taking her to the party. Hogwarts had given her the friends she, for the longest time, could only dream of.

Every footstep she made while skipping along the corridors seemed to echo of the walls, yet she could still hear the voice of none other than Neville Longbottom echoing back.

"Trevor?"

"Would you like some help?"

He turned around and she could see in his eyes that he looked frantic. Luna knew that Neville's toad Trevor meant a great deal to him. Not many people knew Neville in the way that she did, they had had lots of time to talk after the DA meetings last year. Most people didn't know that Neville's parents, Frank and Alice, had been condemned a life in the permanent ward of St. Mungo's or that his cherished toad was given to him by those very same parent's just before they were attacked.

"Hullo Luna," he sighed, "he's gone missing again."

She smiled at him; even though he was too busy searching to catch it.

"Have you tried looking underneath your bed?"

"Oh, I uh..." he stammered, his eyes still on the ceiling.

His cheeks flushed red as he pointed where his eyes were fixated. They had found themselves underneath one of Hogwarts Christmas mistletoe bundles that had been put around the school. Both distracted from the task at hand, Neville found himself baffled by the curious look that had come across Luna's pale face.

"It's probably full of nargles."

Neville wasn't exactly known for being the brightest wizard of his time, far from it by most people, but he was sure that "nargles" weren't in his textbooks.

"What're nargles?"

Before she could answer, he felt something peculiar drop on his head.

"Trevor!"

"I'm glad you found him," she smiled, focusing back on him "As for the nargles..."

That December night would stay in Neville Longbottom's memory as the night he realized he had fallen for the quirky blonde haired Ravenclaw, "Looney" Luna Lovegood.
