Prologue
Renee Swan looked down at her daughter, her eyes filled with love. After 18 painful hours of labour, Isabella Marie Swan was finally here. Her husband Charlie wiped her damp hair out of the 26 year old's eyes, before placing a sweet kiss on her forehead.
"Well done honey," he said, as he grinned down at his sleeping daughter.
She was beautiful, with tufts of brown hair on her small head, and eyebrows furrowed as if deep in thought. Renee yawned.
"Honey, I'll take her, you sleep." Renee smiled thankfully.
"Thank you Charlie." She whispered, carefully handing the small pink bundle to him.
This caused Isabella to open her chocolate brown eyes suddenly and let out a wail. Charlie looked at Renee panicked, but she had already fallen asleep.
"Shh! Shh, it's okay, daddy's here."
At these words Isabella stopped crying and looked up at her father with wide eyes, identical to his.
"It's okay Bella," She let out a soft sigh before drifting off again.
Renee woke up suddenly, smiling at her husband, who was gazing down at their daughter lovingly.
"Hello honey," he said to her.
"Hi, how is she?"
"Bella's fine, she's sleeping."
"Bella? What happened to Izzy?" Renee asked, but she wasn't mad, more amused.
They had agreed that little Isabella's nickname would be Izzy, but Renee couldn't deny, she looked like a Bella.
"Sorry honey, she just suits a Bella," he said sheepishly. Renee giggled.
"I agree, Bella it is then,"
Suddenly there was a knock on the door.
"Come in," Renee said.
Her best friend, Esme Cullen poked her head round and smiled at the sight.
"Esme!"
"Hi Renee darling!"
She came in, and Renee noticed she had her three month old son, Edward bounced on her hip.
"Hi Edward!" Renee cooed.
He looked up and blinked his emerald green eyes giving her a toothy smile, before resting his head on his mother's shoulder. Esme ran a hand through his unusual bronze hair.
"Is this Izzy?" she gasped, pointing to the bundle in Charlie's arms.
She walked around and knelt down so she could see.
"Bella actually." Esme laughed, nodding in approval.
When Renee said Bella, Edward opened his eyes again and looked down curiously. He pressed a small hand to her forehead making the small girl wake up in shock. Her face started to curl, indicating a wail, but then she saw the curious boy above her and stopped. She reached out a tiny finger and it curled around Edward's.
"Oh Charlie! Look, how sweet!"
Both the mothers cooed as the two infants, seemingly made a bond. Charlie chuckled.
"Oh, they're going to be the best of friends!" Esme said happily.
Bella let out a small yawn as she untangled her finger.
"We better go," Esme smiled.
"Okay, bye Esme, bye Edward! Say hello to Carlisle and Emmett!"
"They might come by later if that's okay, John and Lily said they would as well, with the twins."
"Oh okay, that's fine, I'll see you later, bye!"
Edward looked back frantically, letting out a small strangled sob.
Charlie let out a huge laugh as Esme giggled, leaving.
"She's four hours old, and already I have to worry about boys!" he said.
"Oh Charlie! He's only a baby! He's three months old!" Renee said amused, roll
He ducked his head chuckling, though he knew he'd have to keep an eye on Edward Cullen for many years to come.
