CHAPTER 1

The rain hit the window as we drove. Me, sitting in the back. Were moving from Mount Vernon, Washington to Forks Washington. My step father got a re-location thing. He works for a tire company. Jim is his name. He became my father when I was 2 years old. I barley know my real dad. I don't really talk to him much. I go over there every once in a while. He lives in Spokane. As I was saying were moving. It's like a four hour drive from Mount Vernon to Ocean Shores so I imagine it to be a longer drive. The good news is that we started early in the morning and are almost there.

"Don't worry sweetie." my mom said to me. "You'll love Forks."

"Oh yeah. Tell me. Are any of my friends there?" I asked mad. I was laying down but then sat up as we crossed a bridge to go into town. I looked around. Seeing gray skies, and people. The Hummer pulled up and Jim parked it. I unbuckled the seatbelt and got out.

"You can walk around town for a bit." mom said.

"Sure. I would love to know more about this town." I said pretending to be happy. A fake smile rested on my face.

"Come on you have to get use to it." mom said.

I made a I don't care look.

"I'll be back soon." I said. Turning around and walking off.

I stepped into some puddles. Watching were I was going that way I don't fall. I don't do very well on wet sidewalks. Finally looking up I saw a sign. Hospital. Wondering what it was like I walked in. It looked nice. Like M.V. I walked out. Heading
