Prologue
Noah Pukerman walked into the cold Starbuck's that was right across from McKinley High, he went up to the counter with a sour look on his face like he just tasted something nasty and the woman's beaming face behind the counter wasn't making his mood any better.
He looked down at her nametag, 'Hi, my name is…Rachel.' His eyes started to water and he clenched his fists, he thought about the petite beautiful brunette he used to know with that name. He thought of her every day, she was the reason for his sour look today and every day. He looked up at the girl and he could see her slowly form into the girl he once knew, and he couldn't take it.
He looked down at the grey and white pattern tile floor, "Can I get a large black coffee?" His eyes wanted to look up at her face so bad, he wanted to see his Rachel. He wanted to hold his Rachel in his arms again, but it could never happen. Only in his dreams would he see his beautiful Rachel Berry again.
She smiled bitter sweetly at his when she saw the tears run down his cheeks, "Of course you can sir, it's on the house" She smiled brightly at him, turned around and started to make his coffee. Puck wiped the tears from his cheeks, the tears were burning in his eyes and his throat was clenching up. He looked up at the cup of coffee in Rachel's hand; he took it with her and gave her a nod. "Thanks", he said and started to walk out the door. He thought that was the last time he'd ever talk to her, but he was wrong.
"Sir, would you like to talk? I'm a good listener, and you seem like you need a jelly filled doughnut." She smiled at him with not just her lips but her eyes, and first time in two years Noah Pukerman smiled. "I really do like jelly fill doughnuts, and I really would like someone to talk to." She smiled, jumped over the counter and sat down in chair to the nearest table, "Well, what are you waiting for?"
Puck walked over to the chair across from her, and sat down. His hands were shaky and he started to sweat. He hadn't talked about Rachel Berry in years, not even to his best friend Finn. So, what made this girl so different? Maybe because she was a complete stranger, or maybe it was because she had the same name as the girl he was in love with.
All he knew was that he was tired of bottling up his emotions, he was tired of mourning. Rachel was gone, they had some great times together and they really did love each other. He could never her bring her back, as hard as it sounded he had to get over her. He smiled at her then tapped his fingers against his chin, "Hmm…where to start?"
