This story is an altered version of Keys to the Demon Prison from Kendra and Bracken's part of the journey but with an extra person. I posted this a super long time ago, but now I decided to rewrite it so that it's easier to understand.
Bila's Perspective
Why do they have to move around so much? Bila thought as she turned her car around in what was probably an illegal U-turn. First I get to that stupid hut after a 18 hour flight and 7 hours of driving-having to pee the whole time I might add-and they already left. Now the Fairy Queen says they're going to take a rest stop in Venice. I mean I totally could have stayed at home, the preserve is only 5 hours away from there. And I can't even fly because that would "expose our existence" to these little humans. This is such a waste of time.
Bila was wearing the all black leather that she usually donned when she didn't want to be seen at night. And she wore a hood over her head to hide her shiny white hair. That was another thing to complain about. She'd just had a hair appointment and now it would be completely messed up. Suddenly, she felt a weird tingly sensation that she'd learned meant someone was in danger. Someone in an alley to her right. Since nobody was on the road with her, she uttered a spell that caused her car to disappear off to...somewhere. Another spell and she was instantly on top of a building overlooking the alley where she'd sensed someone was in distress.
Kendra, Bracken and Raxtus were sleeping in an alley. Three gergedans-basically humanoid rhinos strong enough to rip trees in half for fun-were approaching them. An ambush. Fun. Bila thought. Sparks surrounded her legs as she jumped down, cushioning the three-story drop. One of them turned to her and she jumped in the air before kicking him in the face. It probably didn't expect her to be so strong, considering it didn't try to block her. The hit sent him straight to the ground, unconscious.
The gergedan closest to her tried to charge, but Bila said, "Geriye." He was sent flying straight into a brick wall. Another one down. The last one lifted up an air conditioning and tried to throw it at Bila, but right when he lifted it over his head, Bila said "düşmek," which caused the vent to fall straight down with more force than it would naturally have. Bila chuckled as the last gergedan fell to the ground.
Time to introduce myself Bila thought, fixing her hair.
"Sorry to wake you, but I thought you'd rather it be me than them." Bila waved her hand at the three gergedans as she said the last word.
"Who are you?" Bracken asked reaching for his sword
"Oh, please, put the sword down." Bila said. "You haven't been to the Fairy Realm in a while, but I'm kind of a big deal. See?" She raised her hand and a white mark in the shape of two interlocking hearts glowed.
"That's..." Bracken trailed off.
"What?" Kendra asked.
"The mark of someone hosting the goddess of beauty."
"That doesn't clear up too much for me." Kendra admitted.
"Technically love, beauty, protection, maidens and fire. But I don't like to brag, so let's stick to what's important. You guys need help, so, here I am."
"What kind of help?" Kendra asked.
"I can fight, I can use magic, I have enough money for you to sleep in a hotel instead of an alley and I can give you less suspicious-looking clothes because-if you haven't noticed it's 2008-and those outfits look like they're from the Lord of the Rings."
"Would you mind giving the three of us a moment to talk?" Bracken asked.
"By all means." Bila said, backing away to give them enough privacy.
