This book takes place when Max Iggy and Fang are around the age of 19 or 20 a couple years after book 6
It was dark everything around me was black and dark. There was a girl lying in the middle of the floor. I-I-I-It was ME! I wasn't breathing I could hear the flock they were yelling my name.
I woke up gasping. I ran into the bathroom and looked at my neck. Thank God l thought. No expiration date. I leaned against the wall. My thoughts were clouded by so many things. I needed some time to think.
I hauled open my window. My room hung over the canyon.I jumped out into the night air and free fell through half the canyon. I snapped my wings and l rose quickly. I flew downwards. There was a cave a little bit lower than halfway down the canyon. I landed in it and sat down. I remembered when me and Fang found this cave.
It was a month after Jeb 'disappered'. FLASHBACK: I sat in my room looking at the canyon that was at least a mile away. *knock* "Who is it ?" Fang walked through the door. We were both around the age of ten at the time. He saw me staring at the canyon. He smiled. "Let's go explore that canyon." I had the hugest goofiest grin on my face. We jumped out the window and came exploring. Ever since then whenever me and Fang had the chance or if we needed to think. We would fly down here. END FLASHBACK.
I sat thinking how happy we were when we came back and built a house over the canyon. Angel especially was. This is where she lived most of her life and then the erasers came and bird-kidnapped her.
I heard a whoosh and in flew/glided Fang. "I thought you'd be here" said Fang. I laughed "Yeah it's the only place that I can think of that can make me calm." Fang walked over and sat next to me.
He sighed "I just had the scariest weirdest dream." "I was lying in complete darkness I wasn't breathing and I could hear everyone calling me to get up and live. It was wierd and I could see the expiration date on my neck." He shook his head.
I got up and plopped down next to him. He stared at me. After all these years even after me and Fang admitted our feelings to each other and then he left and we never gave it a chance again, after all that not once have we thought of Itex or expiration dates or even what our plan is after we grow up.
We stared out at the stars. I started thinking of what the dream meant. Me and Fang both had the same dream that had to mean something. "Max? Max?" Fang was waving his hand in front of my face. "Huh? Oh uh sorry. Errr..I had that same exact dream."
