Author's Note: This is my very first story. Please review. It has always bugged me that General Grievous has never had an emotional side. This story is about him getting in contact with that side. This takes place during the Clone Wars and follows the original canon. It should have about ten chapters so stay tuned for updates!

Ahsoka Tano raced down the main deck of the Invisible Hand – General Grievous' flagship. Her master was not far. All she had to do was get to the end of the ship to find him and safety. She panted for air, but soon realized there was none, for the docks had been opened. The Padawan collapsed, hitting the cold metal floor of the ship. All of a sudden, she felt cold metal on her back as well. She turned to face upward and realized that it was none other than the infamous Supreme Commander of the Droid Armies himself – General Grievous. He laughed his mechanical laugh and coughed.

"There is no escape for you now, Jedi scum!" Grievous bellowed, lifting the Togruta by the throat into the air.

Grievous had a respirator and Ahsoka did not, so even if she attacked, she had no hope of survival. The cold metallic, six-fingered hand clenched her throat, readying his lightsaber to finish the job. But something stopped him. The sight of a female reminded him of someone, someone from his distant past. Unsteady, the general dropped his weapon, giving Ahsoka the chance to slice her captor's face mask off and escape from his grip. She held the mask up to her face, using the respirator to survive. Luckily for Grievous, he had a backup respirator that enabled his survival. Unluckily for him though, his lightsaber had weakened the section of deck he was standing on, leading to his falling from the Invisible Hand to the unknown planet below.

Once on the surface, he recognized the planet to be his homeworld – Kalee. The tyrant was greeted by a young Kaleesh who helped the former to his artificial feet.

"Who are you?" Grievous yelled, careless of manners.

"First," replied the boy, "are you the great General Grievous?"

Grievous nodded.

"Then I am you son, Vas'Grii Sheelal"

At this, the general's respirator skipped a breath, his living heart about to explode from an emotional roller coaster.

Author's Note: Stay tuned for chapter 2 when Grievous meets the rest of his long-lost family.
