All around the village, snow blanketed the earth. Naruto watched the lights flicker within the warm homes from his spot under a tree by a frozen pond. The crisp air filled his lungs with youthful energy.
He then noticed a small light floating just above the pond. It darted about, exploring each of the vast regions. It then stopped, as if just noticing him. Then buzzed excitedly in front of his face. It landed on top of his nose and he felt the itch of a sneeze.
"Ahhchoo!" It flitted about once more, staying close to his golden colored head. "Why is a firefly out in the cold? You should be off hibernating."
He swung his hand as it went once more for his face. "Go away!"
He watched as it buzzed off towards one of the cozy homes. Its light fading as the distance grew. 'How strange, a firefly in winter.'
With a shrug of his shoulders, he started off to his apartment. Once inside he plopped down on the bed, but sleep eluded him. Thoughts of the darting firefly tarnished his slumber.
'I'll tell Sakura-chan about it tomorrow…'
"Hey Naruto!"
"Oi Sakura-chan! I have something to tell you!"
"Me first! I had a really strange dream about you last night."
"Oh, dreaming of me. I see how it is." he smirked perversely.
"Not like that!" She clubbed him on his head with a fist. "Last night I dreamt I became a firefly. I flew over a pond for sometime and then I noticed you standing under a tree but when I flew to you; you swatted at me with your hand. It scared the hell out of me so I dashed back to my home and shut my eyes. But when I opened them, I was human again and in my bed."
He gapped at her; astonished.
"What's with that face? Hey, hey. What is it you wanted to tell me?"
"I've decided it's not important." His hand nervously scratched the back of his head.
She merely blinked at him.

The orginal story is actually a Japaniese myth about two lovers. Naruto plays the part of the neighbor to a pretty girl, his betrothed.
The myth gives less detail to the storyline so I decided to share of what my mind pictured when I read it. You can find the original story by searching it on Google.
