*The next day and they opt for a treat day IN as the kids are still so tired from their past two days of adventures. They sleep in until late morning and when they're all up Brendan makes them all a mini picnic for lunch and they cuddle up watching films and playing silly games.*

"Daddy, can we make cakes for tea?" Leah asks

Ste searches the cupboards for ingredients and they have everything they need so they get to work. Since the teddy bears picnic the kids have adored making cakes and helping their dads.

"My favourite bit is licking the spatula" Lucas says wiping his finger around the bowl and licking the sticky mixture "mmmm"

"I want some!" Leah says copying him

"Kids we actually want to COOK the cake before we eat it. You two keep swiping it then they'll be nothing left" Brendan says pretending to tut at them

Once the cakes are out and cooling down they all decide to play in the back garden for a bit. It's a lovely warm mid august day and they decide to have a water fight. There's several taps outside and Brendan has the hose attached to one whilst Ste uses a bucket and the kids have water pistols.

Lucas aims for Ste and misses. Instead he gets Brendan… right on the crotch of his pants

Leah can't stop laughing "Daddy Brendan wet himself! Daddy Brendan wet himself!" She chants skipping around the garden. Brendan flicks the hose at her and gets her a little bit in the face and stands still slightly shocked then starts laughing and chanting again. Brendan passes Ste the hose and runs after Leah who shrieks and runs away. Lucas stands there legs open, poking his tongue out. "Can't catch me!" and suddenly Brendan's chasing both of them. Brendan grabs Leah and tips her upside down. He walks over to the bucket that's filled with water and dangles over it.

"Say I'm the best" he teases

"No!" Leah says so Brendan lowers her down a little bit more.

"Say it"

"Lucas save me!"

Lucas runs over armed with his water pistol and squirts Brendan, laughing. Brendan holds Leah by one ankle and picks up Lucas in the other arm and turns him upside down too so that he's holding them both by an ankle each hovering them over the bucket.

The kids shout for Daddy Ste and Brendan puts on a fake villain voice.

"You're daddy will never rescue you" He looks around and sees the neighbours cat climb over into their garden. "He'll have to get past my man eating lion first!"

"Lion? Where?" Lucas says thinking one of the ones from the zoo followed them home. "Oh, that's not a real lion daddy Brendan! It's just a kitten"

"I know that Lucas the brave it's just a game"

"If he's Lucas the brave who am I?" Leah says

"Princess Leah of course… now… shall we get back to the game?"

"Oh right…. Save us daddy for the evil and mean…erm… Brendan the bad has got us and he's going to wet our heads!"

Brendan laughs at the kids creativity and Ste switches the hose back on and soaks Brendan from head to toe. Brendan gives a mock cry of defeat and puts the kids on the floor the right way up and they all gang up on him and chase him around the garden.

Once they get in and dried and changed into dry clothes, it's time for them to decorate the cakes. This is fun and the kids get covered in icing. Lucas even has some in his eyelashes and it's all in both the kids hair.

"You kids have so much icing on you we have a few options. We can bake you or we can bathe you. Which is it to be?"

The kids go for a bath whilst the icing and decorations set in the fridge. Lucas plays with his rubber shark and Leah plays with a Barbie doll making it swim up and down. After getting changed for a 3rd time for today, this time into their pyjamas, they're ready for tea and then some cake. Luckily the kids have a big appetite after all that running around. They have sausage, chips and beans with cake and ice cream for pudding and after watching the little mermaid they have another slice of cake before a vigorous tooth brushing then bed.
