Rachel/Tom
After discovering that Sloan has implanted a bomb inside APO, Jack evacuated all the subway. Rachel and Marshal were checking the cameras for more information, Tom and Dixon were searching the bomb.
Tom entered one of the wagons of the subway. Beneath one of the chairs, he discovered the bomb. It was huge. It could easily destroy all the station:
Marshal, what should I do?
Do you see a detonator? Something little with many cables?
Yeah. It's connected to a sort of tube with liquid inside it.
I'm afraid, you couldn't disable it. How much time you've got?
Less than two minutes.
Ok, use the condensater, it'll retard the explosion with one minute, you'll have enough time to get out.
After icing the detonator, Tom sat on one of the chairs instead of running.
Hey Marshal can you pass me to Rachel?
Copy.
Tom, you need to get out!
Yeah. Hey Rachel, I wish there were more time, I'd have asked you out…
Tom, you have two minutes, get out!
I'm not coming back Rachel.
I'm coming down to get you out.
No Rachel, don't.
But it was too late, Rachel had switch off her microphone. Worried that she would die too in the explosion, Tom began to run towards her. On her side, Rachel was now down in the subway and was looking for Tom. She didn't even know where to look but she just couldn't let him do this. He was too important to her.
She heard something. Behind her, Tom was running:
Are you crazy? Come on, the bomb will explode!
Go alone, I won't make it Rachel, go!
I'm not going anywhere without you! So, if you don't want both of us killed just come with me, we can make it!
Rachel was near the exit, only a few more steps and she'd be out. She looked behind her. Tom was far away. He won't make it, the distance was too long…BOOM! The bomb had exploded. All the subway was destroyed…
A few minutes later, Rachel opened her eyes. She wasn't hurt but the shock made her pass away. She looked around her. No sign of Tom. She stood up and began to search for him. She saw him, at least his hand. After removing some things, she calmed down. He was alive, but he was breathing hardly:
Tom, wake up! Come on, don't leave me alone…we've to make it through the exit. Please Tom, wake up.
Rachel...
Tom! Are you alright?
Yeah, I think so.
Gosh! Why did you stay there? Why didn't you get out?
I don't know…It seemed like the right thing to do.
Don't ever do that again! Gosh, you scared me!
But why did you come? You could die too, it was stupid!
What? Did you really think that I was just going to sit here and do nothing? That I…
But Rachel couldn't finish her sentence, Tom had kissed her. He didn't really know why he'd done that, but he just had to do it.
