Title: Things Are Better Now
Summary: Things are getting better everyday. Or, they're supposed to be getting better. Naruto isn't sure, since all his thoughts are on Sasuke. Sasuke/Naruto or Naruto/Sasuke.
Rating: K+
Disclaimer: Once again, insert a witty disclaimer that people will copy because saying "I don't own Naruto" is just too-boring
It's stupid, and Naruto knows it. A childish dream he's holding on, that his best friend will one day come back and everything will be better.
It's stupid, and Naruto knows it. Every Friday, he could be training. But for an hour, ever since the day Naruto was in a hospital, he's written a single letter.
It's stupid, and Naruto knows it. He never mails it, and there are only so many things someone can say to Sasuke without repeating yourself. And it's the worst when there is a pen in Naruto's hand and no ink on the page, no scrawling hirigana, because he's never learned how to spell anything but "Sasuke" and "Sakura" in kanji.
It's stupid. But, the hardest part isn't yelling at Sasuke, screaming with words that he's ruined his life for revenge, and his parents loved him, and would want him to be happy, because in those New Year stories and poems that are published in papers, a family only cares about the other members.
Naruto has an idea that families don't actually act like that. Sakura complained about her father working too-late everyday at the office, and her mom too tired to shop anymore. Most families Naruto knows about, are nothing like the New Year's articles.
But that isn't the point.
It's stupid, and Naruto knows it. There's nothing in the world that Naruto knows more.
But that doesn't mean he can't write, hoping that one day it'll be better.
Except, those words Naruto picked up traveling place to place doesn't mean that things are any different.
Because.
They're family.
And Naruto only wants the best for Sasuke.
"...and that's what's happening here, bastard. Kakashi-sensei says that I'm improving a lot, and Iruka got over his cold. I miss you, and I still love you. If you don't come back soon, I'll march over to Orochimaru's lair and I'll beat everyone there! Then I'll drag you home! Anything."
It's stupid.
And Naruto knows it.
"Love, Naruto"
