A New Beginning

A New Beginning

Rose watched as the Tardis dematerialised and faded away, taking her Doctor with it. She was never going to see him again. The reality hit her harder and than it should really. She'd already gone through this before. It shouldn't really hurt should it?

Tears fell down her face as she thought about how this was final. There was no way she could ever see him again. It wasn't possible. It would never be possible. She continued to stare at the spot where the Tardis had been just seconds ago. She was never going to see it again.

Her heart was breaking. Just like it did last time. Except last time, she'd always had that hope that maybe she could go back. But this time she couldn't. Not anymore. She stood there feeling like her whole was crumbling around her. Again.

But then she felt a warm hand take her own. Well, it wasn't very warm like a human's, but it also wasn't very cold as a Timelord's should be. It was just right. A normal, comfortable temperature that did not make her hand feel sweaty or like it was going to freeze. It was nice. Just nice.

She looked up and into brown eyes that were familiar yet so new. They were the ones she was used to yet she still needed to get used to them. Her heartbeat accelerated as she looked at him. And she couldn't help but think, 'New, new Doctor.'

He was her Doctor that she'd known for so long and yet she still needed to learn so much about him. And then again, maybe she didn't. Because he'd said that they were the same Doctor. Same memories, same feelings.

She remembered how he whispered those three words that she'd wanted to hear for so long. The three words that her Doctor could never say to her but this new Doctor could. How he'd whispered them in her ears for her and only her.

"My Doctor" she whispered. His grip on her hand tightened, "Always."

She smiled and a feeling of complete happiness took over her earlier sadness. She'd always miss her Doctor but she had another one now. Same man, different body, but he still looked the same. And he was hers.

But she needed to be sure, "How long are you going to stay with me?" she asked. He gave her a big grin that she'd spent so many days and nights remembering, "Forever" and then he added, "Literally"

She smiled at him and pulled him closer just as she'd done before and kissed him. He kissed back just as enthusiastically. "I love you too" she whispered and pulling him as close as possible and burying her head in his shoulder.

The Doctor and Rose. Finally together. Forever. Just as they should have always been. And just as they always will be.

Because this was the Doctor and Rose's new beginning.
