"So that leaves this one little gift. That's all that's left?" The Legend Killer said looking up from the table in the far corner of his favorite Mexican restaurant in his girlfriend's home town of Atlanta, Georgia. Of course this place wasn't as good as his favorite in his home town, but it was pretty damn close and almost better simply for the fact that it was near her.
"Yes, baby it does. And I saved this one to the last, because it's special."
The young man's eyebrows raised and a smile broke on his face. This could only be something good for them both. Right?
Amy had thrown a party for Randy in Atlanta specifically because all the roster and thus their friends would be there. The party had been a success, but now everyone was gone leaving the couple alone.
Randy made his way over to the table and picked up the oblong, slightly heavy present.
He raised his eyebrows questioningly, turning back to look at her.
Amy just shook her head.
Orton shrugged as he made his way back over to the bar and his place beside Amy.
He placed the gift beside them on the bar and looked at it.
They both sat in silence for several minutes.
"Well are you gonna open it?"
"Maybe. Maybe not. Is it for me or for both of us?"
"What do you mean pretty boy?"
"Well," the man said sliding closer and putting and arm around the red head, "I mean is it something we can both enjoy."
"Yes." Amy said hoping Randy didn't notice the look of mischief in her eyes.
"Okay. Can it be umm worn?"
"Well, I guess, but it wouldn't be comfortable."
"Hmm. I'm intrigued."
"Well stop being intrigued and open it already."
"Fine!"
The man reached forward and ripped into the wrapping, revealing a box.
He raised his eyebrows once more before lifting the top off and frowning.
Amy almost laughed but kept it contained.
"What is this?!?!"
Amy peeked over his shoulder taking in the object. "It looks like a book."
"Yeah. Well it's not just a book. It's a cook book."
"Yes, this I know, since I was the one to purchase said cook book."
"Yeah but a cook book? Why did you get me a cook book?"
"Because."
The man looked more like a sad little boy the more she talked, more disappoint becoming evident with each passing moment.
"But…"
"No buts. I got you a cook book because I thought you could get use out of it."
"Okay, but how? I don't cook."
"No you don't' with this you can learn."
"Okay."
"No just okay. I got it because I figured…" the woman stopped to smile and move closer to the man, going on her tip toes off the stool she had been occupying to whisper in his ear, "we could get use out of it together when you're at my house or we're at yours or even at one of our own."
Randy couldn't believe it. She couldn't be saying…no…right? No.
"You don't mean?"
"I mean whatever you want me to mean. I am always open to interpretation on my meanings. You know that."
Randy smiled. "Well then I think this means that you want to either move in together or at least think seriously about it. Or you want to exchange keys? Which is dumb since we have had a key to each other's place for going on six months now. But I mean what else could it mean…"
Amy smiled as Randy babbled. "Like I said it's open to interpretation, but I would say it means I want to take our relationship to a new level."
"Really?!"
"Yes."
"Wow and you got me a cookbook to say all that?"
"Yup."
"Wow, so a cookbook isn't so bad after all."
"No, it's not. Is it?"
Amy asked as she smiled once more and leaned up to kiss the man.
