What can I say? I got bored. I wrote a random short story. You are now reading it.
I kinda wanted to add this to the Coming Closer story, but I couldn't come up with a place to put it in. I placed it between the events of chapters 13 and 14 just for shits and giggles. It technically could have gone anywhere, but oh well.
I guess this could be considered a one-shot, even though it kinda serves as background for my main story…
Anywho, enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own One Piece.
I do own Hikari.
Zoro stared at Hikari, trying to come up with an explanation for the sight in front of him. There was no way. It couldn't be. But the longer he stared, the more he couldn't deny it.
Hikari was lounging on the railing, as usual. The day was unnaturally hot, so she had felt the need to do her lounging in a bikini top. Which, Zoro supposed, was normal, seeing as the other two women on board seemed to do the same every time the temperature rose. She was also wearing form fitting pants that hung rather low on her hips, revealing what appeared to be…
"Is that a tattoo?" Zoro rasped. He was trying to look away, he really was. But he couldn't pull his eyes away from the dark splash of ink, which took the form of a pair of wings, at the bottom of Hikari's spine.
Turning her head back, Hikari shot him her trademark smirk. "Yup," she replied simply, appearing pleased with Zoro's flustered reaction. She hooked a thumb in the belt loop at the back of her pants, pulling down slightly, revealing the rest of the tattoo, and more skin. "I got it a long time ago. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing. You like it?"
A gurgling whine bubbled up from deep in Zoro's throat in response. Did he like it? That was an understatement. It was damn sexy. He watched as Hikari's smirk grew wider. She was having too much fun taunting him. Clenching his fists by his side, he turned his back, sucking in a deep breath before he walked off. As he retreated, Hikari's laughter rang in his ears.
This relationship with Hikari was dangerous. It had already been almost a week since the teasing had started. He could hardly hold himself back any longer. Every time he closed his eyes, he was haunted by her.
But he wasn't sure if that was a bad thing.
Zoro found himself at the rear of the ship. Leaning on the railing, he watched a flock of seagulls fly by, dancing over the waves. One of the birds, a smaller one, was fluttering around the largest gull in the group. Zoro watched, intrigued as the larger bird completely ignored the smaller one.
Oh, if only it was that easy to ignore Hikari.
Somehow, she had forced herself into his mind. Roronoa Zoro was not one to lust after women, but she had somehow turned the tables, dropping hints and possibilities that left him begging for more. Her brushes and touches had electricity to them, igniting something inside of him. While his mind resisted, deep down, he knew that his body was having second thoughts.
Zoro sighed, running a hand through his unkempt green hair. He was dwelling too much on this. He hated thinking things through. He personally preferred trusting his instincts and leaving the outcome to luck.
And Zoro was extremely lucky.
"What the hell," he muttered resignedly into the breeze, a small smirk curving over his lips. "Come what may."
