Prologue
He was on the edge of shattering, he was perturbed, he was angry. Put simply he felt a storm of negative emotions. They kept coming never halting and never slowing down, not even in the slightest. But for his credit he took it all. He did not cry out, he did not curse the world, quite simply he bunkered down and dealt with the pain- and why shouldn't he? He was the proclaimed savior- the proclaimed hero- the chosen one. But was he? Was he simply not a child thrust into a world of peril and responsibility? He was but, no one cared, he was there to save them, so why should they bother saving him he was only a tool to be thrown away. He knew this, yet he continued to valiantly trudge forward slowly, so pain staking forward towards his impending doom. The gods and many of the demigods knew he would die protecting them but they chose to not even divulge this fact to him. He was being used as a pawn, but his power was that of a queen the most versatile and arguably most powerful piece on the board. No one acknowledged this. No one ever would acknowledge it. But even as this was all going on the gods betraying the young hero being berated with the onslaught of emotions. Though to be fair the hero put up such an act that no one not his mother, not his best friends, not even the 'all powerful' gods knew how truly hurt he was, his mask was quite simply that strong. To everyone he was the happy go lucky, no worries half blood, the pranking, never upset half blood. No being, not even his mother had ever seen him cry he knew it would hurt her even at a young age, so he simply held it in. He had so many pent-up emotions that he was a dam waiting to explode. Yet he was able to keep it all in and pull some of the negative emotions and use it as power. He trained day and night to try to defeat the enemy for his friends who he would die to protect. Little did the hero know his so called friends were conspiring against him so that after he defeated their impending threat he would be cast out. Oblivious to the hatred that was surrounding him he continued to train until he could no longer stand and even then, he pushed his mind and his powers over water. After all he wanted- nay needed to be strong enough, smart enough, and tactical enough to beat or as his name suggests destroy his opponent. The foe he was told would tear Olympus down and destroy the world; after meeting Kronos he realized that he was, at least in appearances, not all that bad, not evil. However, he never suggests this to the Olympians for he knows that at least some of them wish him dead. Ares hating him for defeating him, Zeus hating him simply because he exists, Hera because he is a demigod, Dionysus chooses to take his resentment of his punishment out on him, Athena dislikes him because of a petty rivalry to his father Poseidon, Aphrodite hates him because she believes he's the reason he and Annabeth didn't work out, and Artemis while she should be grateful that he saved her she isn't he is a male and she blames him for her lieutenant's death, Apollo didn't really care but he would support his sister, Artemis', decision. Hestia on the other hand cared for him in a motherly way because he was noble, kind, and always remained hopeful no matter the situation. Demeter liked him for two reasons one being that he was kind, respectful, and caring of her children and the nature spirts, the other being that he always ate his cereal. Hades supported, or I should rather say stayed neutral to him due to the respect he showed him, his children, and his favorite sister Hestia. Poseidon loved his son as all fathers should and so he was the only god to whole heartedly defend the hero. Hermes valued the treatment he showed his children always caring and Hephaestus was much the same no one really showed his kids any respect and then came this up shot who shouldn't bat an eye at the children of Hermes and Hephaestus, yet he befriended and helped many of them. However, the little support he had wasn't a lot and he knew that he also knew that if it came down to a vote on his life he would be sentenced to death. Yet he showed no interest in this, even though he knew this he chose to ignore it. Instead focusing on how he would defeat Kronos and save the Olympians with his friends. All the while regretting having failed so many of his. He failed Bianca, Zoe, Beckendorf, Daedalus, Lee, and Castor, they all died because of his mistakes. It was his fault. Nico being torn apart by guilt and depression, his fault. His mother almost dying and having to put up with for so many years of a monster of a man, his fault. Pollux having to live on without his other half, his fault. The hunters who must live without their faithful friend, his fault. He believed all these things were his fault. He knows that after the world is safe he will seek justice for the evils he has caused. Little does he know, that as he has these self-deprecating thoughts that a pair of understanding eyes watch him.
