A/N: Hey guys here is another new Castle fanfic! This was inspired by Hollander's Woods and this is a one-shot insert for the episode. So please read, review, and enjoy!
It was long after the awards ceremony was over and they had finished what they could on the newest case that Castle and Beckett headed back to the loft. After entering the loft, they made their way to their bedroom, ready to crash. They started getting ready for bed when Beckett turned to look at Castle.
"Hey babe?"
"Yeah Beckett?" said Castle as he got into bed.
"I'm proud of you."
"Thanks sweetie," said Castle smiling. "I wouldn't be where I am without you."
"You're welcome Castle. Goodnight. I love you."
"Good night Beckett. I love you too."
With that, Castle and Beckett got into bed and went to sleep. They had been awake for a few hours before Beckett suddenly woke at 3 AM with an idea. She headed to Castle's office, with what Castle had said in his speech earlier fresh in her mind. Everything he had said about never writing again and how she changed his world had stuck with her. The truth was that Castle was the reason she was where she was today too. He changed her world.
4:30 A.M
Beckett walked into their bedroom, with something behind her back. She had spent almost two hours on it, pouring herself into every word. Now it was time to see what Castle thought. She watched him sleep for a moment before giving him a slight nudge.
"Castle wake up."
"Beckett? What's going on?" asked Castle. He then looked over at the alarm clock. "It's 4:30 in the morning."
"I had something I wanted to tell you."
"Okay what is it? And what do you have behind your back?" asked Castle trying to get a peek at whatever she was hiding.
"Just something I wrote."
"And here I thought I was the writer."
"Anyways I just wrote it in your office, Inspiration hit me after your speech at the awards ceremony. Everything you said about never writing again and how I changed your world. The truth is you changed my world too. So this is for you," said Beckett as she pulled out the piece of paper out from behind her back and unfolded it.
"Castle 7 years ago, all I cared about was my work. I was drowning in my mom's murder. Then I called you in about someone copying the murders from your books. It was our first case together. What I didn't know was that the moment I flashed my badge at you, my world had changed. I thought that I was broken and that to show how I really felt was weak. You showed me that I was strong and when I was weak, you kept me from losing myself. You broke down my walls and have stood by my side always. You've saved my life countless times and you've always been there for me. You have taught me to believe in fairy tales, fate, destiny, magic, and everything else you believe in. You're my partner, my best friend, my lover, my husband, and my soulmate. You are the best partner I could ever ask for, in crime and life. You're the reason why I am where I am today. You are my solid ground. Always."
Beckett folded back up the piece of paper and looked at Castle.
"So what do you think?"
Castle pulled her in for a kiss.
"What was that for?" asked Beckett.
"That was for everything you just said. The fact that you would write a speech for me like that. Just like I did for you. I loved it."
"You're welcome Castle. Always."
"I love you Beckett."
"I love you too Castle," said Beckett as he pulled her in for another kiss. They then both drifted to sleep.
